As part of the Gallipoli Barracks upgrade a complete replacement and upgrade of the high voltage network was undertaken. Two 33kV substations and three 11kV substations were installed including state of the art protection and SCADA systems. The protection system is equipped with IRIG-B time stamping to ensure accurate Sequence of Event (SOE) time stamping for the SCADA System. AECOM provided the protection and SCADA specification, including the protection study. ABB 33kV, 11kV switchgear and power factor correction units were installed with two Wilson 33/11kV 25MVA transformers. Schneider MICOM protection relays were utilised for the project, these include: P746—11kV Bus bar protection; P643— 33/11 Transformer differential protection; P543— Tie Feeder differential protection; P145— Radial feeder protection; and P142—PFC protection. ROBSAL (Aust) Pty Ltd provided drawing reviews of the high voltage switchgear, protection logic design and SCADA interface design and settings for the protection relays, and performed site wide protection testing. This testing included 33kv protection testing with ENERGEX. ROBSAL (Aust) Pty Ltd provided the detailed SCADA design and installation, including designing the HMI screens. ROBSAL (Aust) Pty Ltd provided switching sheets and an interface to ENERGEX for the commissioning of HV equipment. ROBSAL (Aust) Pty Ltd provided Design, FAT SAT and O&M documentation.
