CONCRETE MOUNT KIT

VERY IMPORTANT: To achieve the exact desired position of the Galaxy canopy (when inthe open position or a perfectly symmetrical multiple Galaxy installation, it is imperative thatthe installation fitting be aligned correctly. Please follow the detailed instructions below.

The Galaxy Concrete Mount Kit has twelve (12) holes, six (6) are countersunk for bolting tothe concrete patio, and the other six (6) are tapped to accept the stem bolts.

STEP 1 Bolt Base PlateBolt base plate to concrete using six (6) 014x150mm Excalibur bolts (not included), makingsure two TAPPED HOLES are lined up in the direction of the desired primary mast andboom position. The countersunk holes are used for bolting to the concrete but should notbe used for alignment. You must align two TAPPED HOLES to achieve the desired position.

STEP 2 Bolt Lower Internal StemAttach lower internal stem to base plate using six (6) stem bolts. Once attached, twoCOUNTERSUNK HOLES on the lower internal stem will line up in the direction of theprimary mast and boom position. If base plate is not set using tapped holes for alignment,the internal stem will not line up properly. See above diagram. Make sure bolts are verytight.

STEP 3 Bolt Upper Internal StemSlide acetal ring over lower internal stem. Slide upper internal stem over lower internalstem. Bolt (4) locator screws and washers (included with umbrella) to lower stem.

Refer to umbrella manual for further installation instructions.

IN-GROUND FITTING KIT

The Galaxy In-Ground Fitting has six (6) tapped holes to accept six (6) stem bolts.

STEP 1 PreparationThe in-ground fitting needs concreting in the ground per the diagram. The hole sizerecommended assumes the terrain is thick clay. Should the terrain be fine soil or sand,the hole size should be increased. Make sure two TAPPED HOLES are lined up in thedirection of the desired primary mast and boom position. You must align two TAPPEDHOLES to achieve the desired position.

STEP 2 Bolt Lower Internal StemOnce installed and the concrete has cured, bolt the lower internal stem to in-ground fittingusing the six (6) stem bolts. Once attached, two COUNTERSUNK HOLES on the internalstem will line up in the direction of the primary mast and boom position. If in-ground fitting isnot set using tapped holes for alignment, the internal stem will not line up properly. Seediagram above. Make sure bolts are very tight.

IMPORTANT: When concreting the in-ground fitting in place, make sure not to get slurry inthe screw threads. Either apply tape over the holes on both sides of the fitting or place thestem bolts in the threads and withdraw them with the concrete is set. Make sure that the in-ground fitting is perfectly level. Allow the concrete to cure for the appropriate cure time foryour area before installing the stem onto the fitting.
