Objective
Portal for disseminating and promoting
the results of transport research conducted in the
European Research Area
3 KEY ELEMENTS
Gabriele Jauernig, TRKC presentation at the ERTRAC meeting, 20.02.08 in Brussels
1 – Information portal
– Collecting and structuring information on institutions, programmes and projects
– Making these searchable on-line in a completely revamped site
– Feeding into Compendium and analysis
Portal for providing timely access to information on EU, national, and
international transport research activities and their results
Focus will be on EU financed research:FP6, first FP7 projects, wrap up of FP5

2 – Aggregate analysis
The consortium provides focused analysis of transport research results against the thematic
structure and emerging policy priorities
– Analysing results on project basis as « technical and policy implications »
– Aggregating project level analysis according to different topics (transport research themes, policy priorities)
– Producing « Thematic Research Summaries » and « Policy Brochures »

3 – Application of research results
• Ultimate aim was to accelerate the practical implementation of transport innovations through the structured knowledge accumulated in the TRKC through targeted pilot cases
• Requirements’ analysis has pointed to the need for a « meta link » facility
Gabriele Jauernig, TRKC presentation at the ERTRAC meeting, 20.02.08 in Brussels
2 best practice cases
• Target group “education & training institutions”: speed up the transfer of research results into higher education & training programmes
– Mini roadmap with analysis of this target group’s needs
• A case study of transfer of research results into policy formulation
– CityMobil

How can ERTRAC support TRKC ?
• Cross web links from ERTRAC and ERTRAC members’ sites
• Submission of transport research project forms and results to the TRKC
• Giving access to research project databases for the TRKC « meta-link » facility
• Promote TRKC at ERTRAC events
