Image capture step-by-stepPreparing slit lamp
■ Move microscope and illumination tower to the right until stop position (for BM 900 set to 60°)
Installing Fundus Module 300 ■ Lift Fundus Module 300 from cradle (if Fundus Module 300 has been turned off, press ON button for starting)
■ Latch Fundus Module 300 to base plate on microscope
Preparing Fundus Module 300 for capture
■ Move Fundus Module 300 forward until stop position ■ Select ‘manual mode’ and enter patient’s refractive error
Start capture ■ Start examination AFTER Windows recognizes Fundus Module 300 in EyeSuite (wait for Windows connection sound or pop-up)
■ Move Fundus Module 300 towards patients eye ■ Centre retina and move in until the picture detail of IR image shows section of interest
Capturing ■ Press release bar on control panel or capture button on Fundus Module 300
■ Captured image is shown briefly then transmitted to EyeSuite
How to avoid image artefacts Disturbing re-flexes in lower part
Reason: Camera is not close enough
Action: Move camera slightly closer to patient’s eye
Image is out of focus
Reason: Camera focus was not on retina
Action: Enter patient’s refractive error to bring focus on retina
Disturbing re-flexes in upper part
Reason: Camera is too close
Action: Move camera slightly fur-ther from patient’s eye
Picture detail incomplete
Reason: Patient’s pupil was too small
Action: Darken room further or if necessary dilate patient’s eye
Image too dark
Reason: Flash intensity is too low
Action: Increase flash intensity
Poor detail despite sharp image
Reason: Image was captured through hazy media
Action: Best im-ages can only be achieved through relatively clear media
Image too bright
Reason: Flash intensity is too high
Action: Reduce flash intensity
