Principal Subsidiaries and Affiliated CompaniesThe Americas
The US economy continues to undergo an extended slowdown in real economic growth, hit by the sub-prime mortgage crisis, the steep rise in the price of crude oil, and a moderation in economic growth rates in newly emerging economies. Under these business conditions, the Fujitsu Group is working to strengthen consulting and managed services, along with the server, storage system, PC, optical transmission equipment and other existing businesses in the Americas.
Among the new initiatives currently underway to accelerate the growth of our businesses in the Americas are the introduction of new models of optical transmission equipment by Fujitsu Network Communications, an enhancement of our ability to provide infrastructure services, collaboration among local Fujitsu subsidiaries to deliver solutions tailored to specific industries (such as financial services, the public sector, healthcare, retailing, and telecommunications), and the strengthening of sales efforts focused on major customers.
We will also make the necessary reforms to our organizational structure to ensure that it remains customer- and market-centric, enabling us to leverage the combined strengths of the Fujitsu Group in the Americas. Customers will benefit from a broad portfolio of integrated products and services, delivered through a unified and efficient business model.

EMEAThe EMEA region includes the 27 nations of the European Union, the countries of Eastern Europe, which
are building their economic strength, Russia, with its vast territory and rich natural resources, the Middle East, with its abundant oil resources, and Africa, which is expected to become a huge market in the future. In 2007, the scale of the information communications market in the EMEA region was approximately 110 trillion yen, and it is expected to continue to expand at an average rate of about 4% a year through 2009.
We are working to expand the services business model of Fujitsu Services of the UK, not just on the European continent, but globally. We will enhance our ability to deliver services by aggressively leveraging offshore and near-shore capabilities. In addition to our existing datacenters and server businesses, we will also expand our line of services that take advantage of WiMAX and other next-generation communication networks as well as RFID tags.
Moreover, while expanding the footprint and market share of our services business in the important market of Western Europe through both organic growth and acquisitions, we will also look for significant new business opportunities throughout the newly emerging markets of the Middle East, Russia and Eastern Europe.

FUJITSU DATA BOOK 3
China and APACChina’s annual level of IT spending is estimated at 7 trillion yen and is expected to maintain a growth rate
of more than 10% over the next several years. Fujitsu is positioning Technology Solutions as the strategic business for tapping into this growing market, aiming for profitable growth through a targeted approach to customers and the market.
By seizing the opportunity of new core system deployments by leading Chinese companies, our System Platforms business will promote the expansion of sales of servers and storage systems to the telecommunications, financial services and public sectors.
Our Solutions/SI business will expand beyond our existing business, centered on providing systems for Japanese companies in China, to new business areas, such as outsourcing services, by teaming up with local partners to serve local companies.
The APAC region excluding China represents a tremendous market of 1.7 billion people (including India) and grew at a high annual rate of 8% per year between 2005 and 2008. In East Asia and the ASEAN countries, we have strengthened our managed services business. New datacenters have been opened in both Korea and Thailand. In October 2007, we completed the acquisition of Infinity Solutions, a New Zealand-based IT services company, as part of our ongoing initiative to enhance our services capabilities throughout Oceania. In addition, in India, we have positioned Fujitsu Consulting’s local subsidiary as a key offshore base for the Fujitsu Group and are developing new business for it with customers in the US, Europe and Japan.
