I PRAY TO YOU, O LORDIt is wonderful to be able to gather together again, albeit in a lim-ited fashion, to celebrate the love and mercy of God the Father. And, as we celebrate the Father’s love, we are thankful to those men, who have been our fathers, who have nurtured us, were
patient, loving, and caring.
Think of the many images of fatherhood which we have from television and the movies. They are either nabobs, or lost immature souls, looking for some sort of guidance. But, the scriptures show a father who is a man of faith, who is a caretak-er, a steward, of his household.
Like Jeremiah in today’s reading, Jesus tells his Apostles not to be afraid in the world. God has our backs. In our world today, men seem to be afraid to be ‘fathers.’ Movements like, “That man is you,” and “Exodus 90” seek to re-establish a man’s role in the Church – especially as a husband and father.
God our Father has created us, sustained us, and renewed us through His Son, Jesus Christ. So, as we approach the altar today, we call to mind that we are called to worship God in Spirit and in Truth. Our awesome God is always approachable, loving and merciful. He offers us an understanding, especially those of us who are titled ‘Father.’

ALL NEW! BIBLE STUDY
IN THE CLOUD
ON TUESDAYS!Ever feel confused after listening the readings during Mass? Wonder what the message of the weekend Mass was about?
St. Thomas Aquinas parish launched a new Bible Study on Tuesday evenings in June on the 16th, 23rd and 30th. The group is using the ‘Christ in Our Neighborhood’ (Christ ION) program which is designed primarily for neighbors and friends to gather and reflect on the Sunday readings. Since we can’t do that in person right now, we have begun the program via Zoom. Each hour-long session is an invitation to reflect on the scriptures for the upcoming Sunday. Through the weekly study of Scripture, participants come to know Christ and make Him known.
The Bible Study will run from 7-8pm on Tuesdays in 3-week sections. Hopefully by the time the July session opens, we’ll be able to meet in person. Until then, you will need internet access for the Zoom sessions. Reserve your spot (attendance is lim-ited) by emailing your name and phone number to Lou Ann Hayes at [email protected].
