CONGRATULATIONS TO... To Denise & Tooky Thames on the birth of a granddaughter, Molly Jewel Merritt, on July 11, 2018. The proud parents are Davis & Kathleen Merritt
We begin the last week of our 29 Day Spiritual Challenge – Come to the Lord’s Table. Having examined our life these past three weeks, we will examine our heart one more time before we partake of the Lord’s Supper next Sunday, July 29. Make every effort to be here for this important service. We rejoiced last Sunday as we witnessed the professions of faith by Trey Esch and Cooper Peden. It is another evidence that God is at work through His church. We will look forward to their baptismal service. Have you followed the Lord’s command and been baptized as a believer? It is a powerful act of obedience and witness to the world of God’s resurrection power. There are some important weeks of ministry coming up. The month of August begins our new fall semester as school is back in session. But make sure you are here for Sunday, August 19th – we will have a special theme and guest speaker that morning that you will not want to miss. For now, plan on being here. People of the Word…People of Prayer
I love you in the Lord, Bro. Greg

Dear brothers and sisters,
Greengs in the name of the Lord Jesus this morning. We gather here for
the expressed purpose of praise and worship today. Praise has many
meanings and in modern context I think it is appropriate to characterize it
as jubilant and joyful corporate acknowledgement of who Jesus is and
what He has done. The term “worship" seems to have a more reverent,
introspecve, and personal tone to it. Not always, but o*en I think of
praise as something we do together. Worship is more one-on-one
between an individual and God. I agree - these terms can mean different
things to different people and that meaning can shi* given the varied
backgrounds and experiences we have. I define them in this way to give
you an insight into how I think about our worship gatherings.
Everything I do in planning worship falls under one primary mandate: the
church meets to bring glory to God. On my list of priories the “glory of
God” occupies the first 10 slots. At number 11 of consideraons I begin to
branch out into the various ideas of how to accomplish praise and
worship. However we praise, it has to bring glory to God. And, however
we worship, it has to bring glory to God.
I create moments in each service that allow us to corporately express
praise and I create moments in each service that are more inmate and
one-on-one with God. Don’t miss the opportunity to do both.
I love you all more than you know.
Pastor Nick
