Our Celebration of this glorious Day of Resurrection began at the end of last week’s morning service when we heard the professions of faith of Casey Chaffin and Sarah Todd Adcock. We welcome them into our membership and look forward to their baptism. Baptism is a powerful reminder of the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. He gives us new life in which we live in a daily relationship with Him by faith. Today we also will be collecting our North American Annie Armstrong Missions Offering. This vital offering will first help support Pastor Matt Delaughter’s ministry – Immanuel Church in New Orleans, LA. This is our third year of a 3 year commitment to this church plant. It is growing and disciples are being made as people trust in Jesus as Lord of their life. This offering will also help thousands of our missionaries who work to reach North America for Christ. Our nation alone has over 85 different people groups that need Jesus Christ. We need to exceed $16,000 and hope to raise $25,000. Please give to this annual mission offering with joy. I want to thank the members who went to Israel and shared in our service last Sunday, as well as those who were willing to share. Each testimony was so inspiring. I also want to thank our Courtesy Committee and all the folks who brought food for our time together. It was wonderful. Now come let us worship together! I love you in the Lord, Bro. If you are visiting with us today and are looking for a church in which you can KNOW more about Jesus; GROW in your faith; SERVE the kingdom of God using your gifts; and SHARE with others the glory of God, then welcome home. There is a place for you here at First Baptist Church. If you are visiting with us today from out of town or here with family, we welcome you all the same. Either way, this morning we hope that you will find an opportunity to praise the name of Jesus with us. Jesus is alive! A special feature of our corporate worship this morning that I thought I’d mention to you is our instrumental prelude. Week in and week out we are privileged to hear Nancy Fisher or Roy Daughdrill draw us into the worship time with their highly skilled and prepared preludes. We are so thankful for their gifts. This morning's prelude is an adaptation of a great hymn called “Christ the Lord is Risen Today.” You’ll recognize the melody throughout the offering. This was adapted and arranged, in part, by a new friend of ours here at FBC. I won’t mention his name to you here, but if you happen to bump into the fella playing the trombone this morning thank him for giving us this wonderful gift. All glory to God. Finally, I want to mention to you that we are live streaming our morning worship services on our website and on Facebook. You can follow our Facebook page and it will alert you when we go live or you can browse to www.fbcbrookhaven.org and you will see the Watch Live button at the top of the Home Page.
