Proud to support Warminster Festival
Message from the Festival PatronI hope that this year’s Festival will be representative of not only local but also international performers. There will be a variety of unique offerings for all the family. These are scheduled to enable a wide variety of age ranges and tastes to be accommodated at different times of the day and evening.
History of the Warminster Festival
The Warminster Festival was founded by Cllr Joan Main in 1989 to promote and foster appreciation of the arts in Warminster and the community area. The members of the committee work very hard to encourage all sections of the Warminster community to take part and feel that this is a Festival for them. Members of the committee are volunteers and the Festival does not have a paid administrator. All income is from grants, sponsorship or ticket sales.
The Festival Officials:
Festival Chairman: Barry Mole
Barry has lived in Warminster all his life. He has been Station Director of Warminster Community Radio since 1996 and became Chairman of the Warminster Festival in 2013.
Festival Treasurer: Heather Parks
Heather was Warminster’s Town Clerk from 2005 until 2017. Simultaneously, she served as Festival Treasurer and continued in the post following her retirement.
Festival Secretary: Andrew Robinson
Andrew is a Warminster resident born and bred. He has been Station Manager at Warminster Community Radio since 2010 and is a primary school teacher in Amesbury.

Tuesday 24 OctoberLutyens and the Great War
2017 marks the centenary of the founding
of the Imperial (now Commonwealth) War
Graves Commission.
Sir Edwin Lutyens is celebrated for his
design work for wealthy clients, yet much
of his work in connection with World War
I remains unknown. As Chief Architect
for the Imperial War Graves Commission,
Lutyens’ work set the standard for the
much-admired British and Commonwealth
war cemeteries. Tim Skelton, co-author of
a book about the Chief Architect, gives an
illustrated talk at the Athenaeum about the
important aspect of Lutyens’ career and
examines his role as well as that of the
Imperial War Graves Commission.
