Simply combine embroidery hoops and gently worn clothing featuring fun pock- ets. Add embellishments or hand embroidery for additional style. Make one or more to fit your wall décor. Approximate Finished Size: 9" diameter Supplies Needed: Denim jeans or clothing with pockets Embroidery hoops Mid-weight fusible interfacing Helpful Notions: Erasable fabric marking pen or pencil 12 wt. cotton thread or sturdy string Permanent glue Jumbo Wonder Clips Instructions: Read all instructions before beginning project. 1. Sort through jeans or clothing to determine what areas might be used. Audition pocket areas with an embroidery hoop to get an idea of how the pocket will look within the hoop. Also, temporarily hoop the area to see if you are achieving the look you desire. 2. Cut garment apart: Carefully cut chosen garment apart following seam allow- ances. Remove waistbands, buttons, zippers, etc. Clothing parts should lay flat. Press areas if needed. 3. Trace the hoop circle on the wrong side of the clothing item. Add 2 – 2½" around the trace line for seam allowance. Trim circle following seam allowance line. 4. Cut interfacing: Trace the edge of the embroidery hoop on the interfacing. Cut interfacing circle just inside traced line. 5. Fuse interfacing to the wrong side of the fabric following manufacturers’ instructions. The interfacing will provide additional stability and support to the pocket when in use. 6. Complete the hoop pocket: Open outer hoop to the largest setting, so the denim/inter- facing circle will fit easily into the hoop. Center the denim circle over the inner hoop. Place the outer hoop over the fabric and begin tightening the hoop around the fabric. Once the fabric is snug, carefully pull the fabric around the hoop to get the fabric taut within the hoop. When the pocket is smooth with no waves or ripples, finish tighten- ing the hoop. Wrong side 2" Interfacing

• Place a line of glue on the edge of the inner hoop. Adhere the fabric to the hoop. Use Jumbo Wonder Clips around the edge of the hoop to hold fabric in place until glue sets.

• For extra stability, thread a large-eyed needle with 12 wt. cotton thread or sturdy string and sew the seam allowance in a wheel spoke or criss cross pattern.

Arrange the hoops on the wall to create a stunning wall art with hidden treasures only you know are there.
