Which Products Are Eligible?

All Fortinet product lines are eligible for the TradeUp Program, with the exception of those listed in the next section. To benefit from the discounts, you must replace the installed appliance with a new unit from the same product line (ie: replace an installed FortiGate unit with a new FortiGate unit, an installed FortiMail unit with a new FortiMail unit, etc…).

When Can I Benefit From A Transfer Of Services From The Installed Unit To The New Unit?You can benefit from a transfer of services from the installed unit to the new hardware when purchases are made according to the Migration Matrix that follows. The Migration Matrix includes two categories of products: end-of-sale and those not compatible with FortiOS 5.0.

IMPORTANT: Existing FortiCare and/or FortiGuard service contracts can be transferred to a new unit but cannot be accumulated with newly purchased contracts. Transferring existing service contracts to a new unit that includes new service contracts (for instance a bundle purchase) will override and thus cancel the new contracts. For this reason Fortinet highly recommends that, in case of transfer of services, only the hardware unit is purchased. In the case that the transfer of existing services is not possible or not desired, it is possible to take advantage of the discounts offered on the purchase of FortiCare, FortiGuard and Bundle Renewals.

What Is The Purchase Order Process?

The purchase order must be accompanied by the ‘TradeUp Program - End User Form’ (see attached), and the purchase order must mention ‘Fortinet TradeUp Program’.

What Is The Process To Transfer Services From The Installed Unit To The Newly Purchased Replacement Unit?

Log-in at https://support.fortinet.com and go to the Asset Management/Manage View Product Section. Select the serial number of the product to be replaced. Click on the option Serial Number/RMA Transfer, and insert the serial number of the newly purchased unit. Upon saving, the transfer of services is confirmed and in place.

What Is The Process To De-Register The Replaced (Old) Unit?

Within one month, you or your Fortinet reseller must open a partner ticket at https://support.fortinet.com and request the de-registration of the replaced unit by providing its serial number. Any warranty or guarantee that is in place for the replaced (old) unit will cease upon de-registration.

By purchasing Fortinet products under the TradeUp Program, you agree to the following:
