¿DÓNDE ESTÁ?Formentera es la isla habitada más pequeña de las Baleares. Se encuentra situada al sur de la isla de Ibiza a tan solo poco más de 2 millas náuticas de ésta, aunque la distancia entre los puertos de Ibiza y La Savina (Formentera) es de 12 millas. A pesar de tratarse de una isla pequeña, 83 Kms cuadrados, su forma recortada hace que tenga una gran extensión de costa (66 km.) en proporción a su superficie. A lo largo de la costa hay muchas playas, de grandes y pequeñas dimensiones y numerosas calas y rincones solitarios en los que perderse. La isla de Formentera es pequeña, pero accesible y cómoda. Podemos recorrerla en su mayor parte en bicicleta, por sus caminos verdes, sus bosques de pinos y sabinas, sus salinas y por su interior rural. La isla de Formentera destaca por su gran belleza medioambiental y por su paisaje, aún salvaje, de dunas y playas, que se conservan en excelente estado. Por ello, en toda la isla está prohibido acampar.En cuanto desembarquemos en Formentera respiraremos ese aire de paz y tranquilidad que la caracteriza y la convierte en un lugar diferente. Enseguida nos cautivarán sus aguas, únicas por su transparencia y color turquesa sin igual, que nos evocan latitudes tropicales y cuya belleza se debe a la presencia de la pradera de Posidonia oceánica más grande del Mediterráneo, que fue declarada Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la Unesco en 1999.

WhErE iS iT?Formentera is the smallest inhabited island in the Balearic Islands. It is located just over two nautical miles south of the island of Ibiza, although the distance between the ports of Ibiza and La Savina (Formentera) is 12 miles. Although it is a small island (83 km²), its irregular shape provides it with a relatively long coastline (66 km) in proportion to its surface area. Its coastline has many large and small beaches, and numerous coves and isolated spots where you can lose yourself. The island of Formentera is small, but accessible and convenient. You can get around most of the island by bicycle, along its green paths, through its pine and juniper forests, and around its salt lakes and rural interior. The island of Formentera stands out for its great environmental beauty and wild unspoilt dune and beach landscapes, which have been preserved in excellent condition. In order to maintain these characteristics, camping is prohibited throughout the island.As soon as you disembark on Formentera, you’ll be able to take in the air of peace and tranquillity so typical of the island, which makes it such a unique place. DOVE Si TrOVA?Formentera è l’isola abitata più piccola delle Baleari. È situata a sud dell’isola di Ibiza a poco più di 2 miglia nautiche da quest’ultima, benché la distanza tra i porti di Ibiza e La Savina (Formentera) sia di 12 miglia. Nonostante sia un’isola piccola, 83 Km quadrati, la sua forma frastagliata fa sì che abbia una grande estensione di costa (66 km) rispetto alla sua superficie. Lungo la costa ci sono molte spiagge di grandi e piccole dimensioni e numerose calette e angolini reconditi in cui perdersi. L’isola di Formentera è piccola, tuttavia accessibile e comoda. È possibile percorrerla per la maggior parte in bicicletta, attraverso i percorsi verdi, le pinete e i boschi di sabine, le saline e l’entroterra rurale. L’isola di Formentera si distingue per la sua grande bellezza ambientale e per il paesaggio, ancora selvaggio, di dune e spiagge eccellentemente conservate. Per questo motivo, in tutta l’isola è vietato campeggiare.Non appena si sbarca a Formentera, si respira un’aria di pace e tranquillità, caratteristiche che la rendono un luogo differente. Si viene immediatamente attratti dal mare, unico per la sua trasparenza e l’impareggiabile colore turchese che evoca latitudini tropicali e la cui bellezza è dovuta alla presenza della prateria di Posidonia oceanica più grande del Mediterraneo, dichiarata Patrimonio dell’Umanità dall’Unesco nel 1999.

WO LiEGT FOrMENTErA?Formentera ist die kleinste bewohnte Insel der Balearen. Sie liegt wenig mehr als zwei Seemeilen südlich von der Insel Ibiza, wenngleich die Entfernung zwischen den Häfen von Ibiza und La Savina (Formentera) zwölf Seemeilen beträgt. Die Insel ist zwar mit 83 Quadratkilometern recht klein, allerdings verfügt sie wegen ihrer zerklüfteten Form in Relation zu ihrer Fläche über eine lange Küste (66 Kilometer). An dieser Küste säumen sich viele große und kleine Strände sowie zahlreiche Buchten und einsame Winkel, in die man sich zurückziehen kann. Die Insel Formentera ist zwar klein, aber dennoch gut zugänglich. Einen Großteil kann mit dem Fahrrad erkundet werden, über Radwanderwege (die sogenannten Grüne Wege), durch Pinien- und Sadebaumwälder, vorbei an Salinen sowie durch das ländliche Landsinnere. Die Insel Formentera zeichnet sich durch ihre Naturschönheiten und durch ihre noch wilde Landschaft aus sowie durch ihre Dünen und Strände, die sich in einem ausgezeichneten Zustand befinden. Damit dies so bleibt, ist Camping auf der ganzen Insel verboten.Schon bei der Ankunft auf Formentera spürt man die Stille und Ruhe, die diese Insel auszeichnen und sie zu einem ganz besonderen Ort machen. Das Meer zieht einen mit seiner Transparenz und seinem unvergleichlichen Türkis, welche an tropische Breiten erinnern, sofort in seinen Bann. Diese Schönheit ist den größten Neptungrasfeldern im Mittelmeer zu verdanken, welche von der Unesco 1999 zum Welterbe erklärt wurde.

GUÍA DE PLAYAS

Formentera ofrece kilómetros de playas de arena blanca y aguas transparentes con combinaciones de azul y tur-quesa sorprendentes. Auténticas playas de bandera. En la isla podrá encontrar, desde la pequeña cala solitaria has-ta largos arenales de ensueño, pero en todas se puede

disfrutar de tranquilidad y paz en un ambiente natural y preservado de la masificación.Si algo hace diferente a Formentera del resto de destinos medite-rráneos, es la belleza de su litoral y la ausencia de construcción en la mayor parte de su costa. La apuesta desde hace décadas por un desarrollo sostenible, ha hecho posible que hoy en día se pueda disfrutar de unas playas de belleza paradisíaca pero con todos los servicios y seguridad de un destino occidental.

• Playas del Parque Natural de ses Salines:Se encuentran al norte de la isla y cercanas al puerto de la Savina, desde donde son fácilmente accesibles a pie o en bicicleta por el cami-no de “Sa Guia”, ruta nº 4 de los Circuitos Verdes. En caso de acceder por la carretera principal de Illetes, los vehículos a motor cuentan con un extenso parking por el que tendrán que abonar una pequeña cuota. Dicha cuota permite el mantenimiento del aparcamiento y permite la regularización de los vehículos que pueden acceder a esta zona de es-pecial protección medioambiental. El acceso a pie, en bicicleta, vehículo eléctrico o transporte público es gratuito.

• Playa des Cavall d’en BorrasEsta es la playa más cercana al puerto. Es tranquila y de aguas cristalinas. En su parte posterior se encuentra un bello bosque de sabinas donde podremos protegernos del sol en las horas más ca-lurosas.

• Playa de IlletesEs la continuación natural de Cavall d’en Borrás y ocupa toda la cara oeste de la lengua de arena que es la península de Es Truca-dors. Su nombre se debe a los pequeños islotes que se encuentran delante de la costa. Esta es la playa más conocida y turística de la isla debido a la transparencia y tonalidades turquesas de sus aguas. Generalmente ausente de olas, parece una piscina natural. Además, cuenta con una amplia oferta de servicios: restaurantes y quioscos, hamacas y sombrillas, así como empresas de turis-mo activo y deportes acuáticos. Sin embargo, cuenta con rincones tranquilos y solitarios en su tramo final, cuando por la irregularidad del terreno se termina el acceso con vehículos

• Playa de LlevantOcupa la cara este de la península de Es Trucadors. Es una playa de gran extensión y por tanto cuenta con muchos rin-cones tranquilos y solitarios a pesar de su proximidad a la turística playa de Illetes. Generalmente por el viento de componente Este, registra numerosas olas y brisas que en periodo estival, resultan muy agradables. Además, en ella se encuentran diversos restau-rantes y quioscos.

• Playa des Racó de s’AlgaSe encuentra en la isla de Espalmador, que está a continuación de la punta des Trucadors donde se encuentra Illetes. Espalmador es una isla vírgen de 2 kms cuadrados, sin apenas construcciones y especialmente protegida medioambientalmente. En su interior existe una laguna de barros que en pasados años era frecuentada por turistas que usaban sus lodos, pero dado que es un lugar de anidamiento de aves, el uso estos lodos está prohibido, al tiempo que clínicamente desaconsejado.

• Playas de Es Pujols y Sa RoquetaLa playa de Es Pujols, al noreste de la la isla y en forma de concha, está formada por tramos de arena alternados con tramos de roca baja en los que se encuentran las casetas de pescadores. Cuenta con un bello y animado paseo peatonal en el que se hallan nume-rosas tiendas y restaurantes, además de los puestos de souvenirs al atardecer. Continuando hacia el norte y separada de Es Pujols tan solo por algunos tramos rocosos, se encuentra la playa de Sa Roqueta, rincón tranquilo y familiar que conecta con el sur de la playa de Levante.

• Playa de MigjornEs la playa más larga de la isla (5 kms), ya que su extensión abar-ca todo el gran arco sur que forma la isla, combinando tranquilas calas de arena con zonas de roca. Su gran extensión y situación geográfica hacen de esta playa una de las más tranquilas de la isla. Se puede acceder a ella desde numerosos caminos que atraviesan un denso bosque de sabinas. Sin masificación, en ella también se encuentran restaurantes, quioscos, hoteles y empresas de activi-dades acuáticas a lo largo de su costa.

Las diferentes zonas de la playa tienen distintas denominaciones y topónimos, por lo que encontraremos de oeste a este las siguientes playas:es Mal Pas / es Ca Marí / es Códol Foradat / es Arenals / es Copinar / es Caló d’es Mort

• Playa de Cala SaonaEsta pequeña playa (140 mts) orientada al oeste de la isla es muy visitada por su bello paisaje: desde el bosque que la rodea, las vistas de la vecina isla de Ibiza y los be-llos acantilados de Punta Rasa a los que se puede acceder fácilmente a pie, a la oferta de quioscos o restaurantes. Es una cala muy estimada por la extraordinaria puesta de sol que desde ella se contempla y para las familias, por la poca profundidad de sus aguas.

• Playa de Ses PlatgetesAl este de la isla, en la rocosa y tranquila costa de Tramuntana, se encuentra esta pe-queña zona de playa de arena fina situada a continuación de la población de Es Caló, en combinación de salientes de rocas bajas.

CONSEJOS PrÁCTiCOS:• Es recomendable consultar en la prensa lo-

cal la dirección del viento antes de decidir la playa a visitar, con la ventaja de que siempre se encuentra una u otra playa cobijada de éste, en la que resplandecerá el sol ausente de oleaje como si de una piscina se tratase. O si se dispone de un smartphone, dicha in-formación puede ser consultada a través de la web: www.formentera.es

• La puesta de sol es casi un ritual en For-mentera. Tanto visitantes como residen-tes, aprovechan este momento del día para acercarse a alguna playa o acanti-lado para contemplarlo. También es ha-bitual reunirse en algún chiringuito con vistas para tomar mojitos o alguna otra

bebida refrescante. Debido a sus condi-ciones geográficas, desde casi cualquier lugar de la isla se obtienen vistas espec-taculares. Destacan las ubicaciones al oeste que permiten ver cómo se pone el sol en el mar: el faro de Cap de Bar-baria, la playa de Cala Saona, S’Estany des Peix, el puerto de La Savina y toda la extensión de Illetes.

• Para las familias con niños lo más reco-mendable es visitar las principales playas de arena: Migjorn, Cala Saona o Illetes. Para los que buscan evasión lo más re-comendable es adentrarse en las playas o calas más recónditas o tranquilas: Levante, Espalmador, Ses Platgetes, Sa Roqueta y los tramos de Migjorn alejados de hoteles, especialmente desde Ca Marí hacia Es Mal Pas.

• Por otro lado, cabe mencionar que el na-turismo es una práctica habitual y cada vez más extendida en la isla. No existen propiamente playas más o menos apro-piadas para su práctica, sino que más bien se encuentran zonas mixtas en las que ante todo prima la libertad del indi-viduo y el respeto hacia los demás. No obstante, como las preferencias tienden a agruparse, hay determinadas playas en las que prima el naturismo y no es casual que sea más habitual en las playas me-nos turísticas: Levante, Ses Canyes, Sa Roqueta, costa de Tramuntana, Caló des Mort, tramos de Migjorn (de Ca Marí hacia Es Mal Pas) y en la isla de S’Espalmador.

• En Formentera existen 2 playas adap-tadas para personas con movilidad

reducida: Es Pujols y Arenals. Ambas poseen: rampas de acceso, plataforma con sombra, pasamanos, sillas anfibias y socorristas. Además, Arenals cuenta con baños adaptados y aparcamiento reser-vado para minusválidos.

Las playas de la isla han permanecido inal-terables durante años, a pesar de la afluen-cia de visitantes y la evolución del turismo. Sin embargo, somos nosotros, los huma-nos, el peor enemigo del medioambiente cuando abandonamos nuestras bolsas, latas o colillas en la arena. Contribuyamos entre todos a que este paraíso continúe in-alterable...

BEACHwould expect from a top European holiday destination. • The beaches of Ses Salines

Nature Park:These are situated in the north of the island near La Savina port and are easily accessible on foot or by bicycle along the “Sa Guia” path, route No 4 of the Green Routes. If you are trav-elling by motor vehicle on the Illetes main road, a large car park is available for which you will have to pay a small fee. This fee is for the up-keep of the car park and controlling the types of vehicles that are permitted to gain access to this special environmental protection area. Ac-cess on foot, by bicycle, electric car or public transport is free of charge. • Cavall d’en Borras BeachThis is the nearest beach to the port. It is quiet with crystal-clear waters. Behind the beach, there is a beautiful juniper forest where you can protect yourself from the sun during the hottest hours of the day.

• Illetes BeachThis is the natural continuation of Cavall d’en Borras and occupies all of the western side of the spit known as the Es Trucadors peninsula. It is named after the small islets that can be found along the coast. This is the most well known and popular beach on the island due to its crystal-clear and turquoise-shaded waters. As it is doesn’t usually have many waves, it looks like a natural swimming pool. It also boasts a wide range of services: restaurants and ki-

osks, sun loungers and parasols, as well as companies offering holiday activities and water sports. There are also plenty of quiet and isolated spots at its furthermost point where, due to the irregularity of the terrain, vehicles are not permitted.

• Racó de s’Alga BeachThis beach is located on the island of Espal-mador, which is off the tip of Es Trucadors and the beaches of Illetes. Espalmador is a 2 km², environmentally protected, uninhab-ited island with hardly any construction. In its interior there is a mud lake, which used to be frequented by tourists who used the mud. As it is now a nesting area for birds, its use by tourists has been prohibited, as well as dis-couraged for reasons of sanitation.

• Llevant BeachThis beach occupies the eastern side of the Es Trucadors peninsula.

It is a large beach with many quiet and isolated spots in spite of its proximity to the tourist beach of Illetes. Because of its mainly easterly wind, the beach has many waves and pleasant breezes in the sum-mer. There are also various restaurants and kiosks. • Es Pujols Beach

and Sa Roqueta BeachThe shell-shaped Es Pujols beach in the northeast of the island consists of stretches of sand interspersed with low rock forma-tions where fishermen’s houses are loca-ted. It has a beautiful and lively promenade with numerous shops and restaurants, as well as souvenir stalls in the evenings. Continuing northwards and only separated from Es Pujols by some rocky outcrops is Sa Roqueta beach, a quiet corner ideal for families that connects to the southern end of Levante beach.

• Migjorn BeachThis beach is the longest on the island (5 km), running the whole length of the crescent-shaped southern coast of the island, made up of quiet sandy coves and rocky areas. Its long length and geo-graphic location make this beach one of the quietest on the island. You can get there by taking one of the numerous paths that cross the nearby dense juniper forest. Located along the coastline are restaurants, kiosks, hotels and companies providing water sport activities, but the area does not suffer from overcrowding. The beach is divided into smaller beaches with the following na-mes from west to east: es Mal Pas / es Ca Marí / es Códol Foradat / es Arenals / es Copinar / es Caló d’es Mort

• Cala Saona BeachThis small beach (140 m) in the west of the island is very popu-lar for its beautiful scenery. From the surrounding forest, there are stunning views of the neighbouring island of Ibiza and the beautiful Punta Rasa cliffs, which are easily accessible on foot and which boast a number of kiosks and restaurants. It is a very popular cove due to the wonderful sunsets that can be seen there and its shallow waters for families. • Ses Platgetes BeachThis small beach with fine sand, interspersed with low rocky out-crops, is located to the east of the island in the quiet and rocky coastal area of Tramuntana near the village of Es Caló.

Practical Advice:• It is always best to check the local press for wind direction before

deciding on which beach to visit. You will always find one or two sheltered beaches, where the sun will be shining and the sea will be as calm as a swimming pool. Or, if you have a smartphone, the information is available on this website: www.formentera.es

• Sunset is almost a ritual event on Formentera. Visitors and resi-dents alike take a moment at this time of the day to stop what they are doing and head for a beach or a cliff to watch it. It is also common to meet up with friends at a beach bar with a view to sip mojitos or some other cool drink. Because of its geography, you get spectacular views from almost anywhere on the island. As you might imagine, the west coast has the best places of all to watch the sun sink into the sea: the lighthouse at Cap de Bar-baria, Cala Saona beach, S’Estany des Peix, La Savina port and anywhere at Illetes.

• For families with children, the island’s main sandy beaches are the best places to head for: Migjorn, Cala Saona and Illetes. For people wanting to get away from the crowds, a series of small beaches and hidden coves provide quiet havens: Levante, Espal-mador, Ses Platgetes, Sa Roqueta and the stretches of Migjorn further away from the hotels, especially from Ca Marí towards Es Mal Pas.

SPIAGGE • It is also worth mentioning that naturism is becomingly increasin-gly common all over the island. There are no specific beaches set aside for this practice, but most beaches have mixed areas whe-re individuals are free to express themselves in this way, provi-ded they show the utmost respect to other beach users. However, as likeminded people tend to stay together, some beaches are mostly naturist, especially in quieter areas with fewer tourists, such as: Levante, Ses Canyes, Sa Roqueta, the Tramuntana coast, Caló des Mort, some stretches of Migjorn (from Ca Marí towards Es Mal Pas) and on the island of S’Espalmador.

• Formentera has 2 adapted beaches for people with reduced mo-bility: Es Pujols and Arenals. They both have access ramps, shady platform, handrails, amphibious wheelchairs and lifeguards. Are-nals also has adapted toilets and disabled car parking.

Formentera’s beaches have remained clean for many years, despi-te the huge influx of visitors and the development of tourism ame-nities. Formentera offre chilometri di spiagge di sabbia bianca e acque trasparenti con combinazioni di azzurro e turche-se sorprendenti. Autentiche spiagge da bandiera azzurra. Sull’isola si possono trovare dalle piccole cale solitarie alle grandi distese di sabbia da sogno, e in tutte è possi-

bile godersi pace e tranquillità in un ambiente naturale preservato dal turismo di massa.Ciò che fa la differenza tra Formentera e le altre destinazioni del Mediterraneo è la bellezza del suo litorale e l’assenza di costruzioni lungo la maggior parte della costa. Aver puntato, già da decenni, sullo sviluppo sostenibile, ha fatto sì che oggi sia possibile godere di spiagge dalla bellezza paradisiaca ma dotate di ogni tipo di ser-vizio e di sicurezza tipici di una destinazione occidentale.

• Spiagge del Parco Naturale Ses Salines:Si trovano nel nord dell’isola e vicine al porto della Savina, da cui sono facilmente accessibili a piedi o in bicicletta attraverso il sen-tiero di “Sa Guia”, sentiero nº 4 dei Percorsi verdi. Arrivando dalla strada principale di Illetes, i veicoli a motore hanno a disposizione un ampio parcheggio per il quale si deve pagare una piccola som-ma, che consente la manutenzione del parcheggio e permette di regolamentare l’accesso dei veicoli a questa speciale zona am-bientale protetta. L’accesso a piedi, in bicicletta, con veicolo elettri-co o trasporto pubblico è gratuito. • Spiaggia Cavall d’en BorrasÈ la più vicina al porto. È una spiaggia tranquilla dal mare crista-llino. Nella parte posteriore si trova un bel bosco di sabine dove è possibile proteggersi dal sole durante le ore più calde.

• Spiaggia di IlletesÈ la continuazione naturale della spiaggia Cavall d’en Borrás e oc-cupa tutto il lato occidentale della lingua di sabbia della penisola Es Trucadors. Il suo nome deriva dalle isolette che si trovano di fronte alla costa. È la spiaggia più conosciuta e turistica dell’isola, grazie alla trasparenza e alle tonalità turchesi del suo mare. In ge-nere è priva di onde, sembra una piscina naturale. Inoltre, propone un’ampia offerta di servizi: ristoranti e chioschi, amache e ombre-lloni, oltre a centri di turismo attivo e sport acquatici. Ciononostan-te, offre angoli tranquilli e solitari verso la sua parte finale, dove, a causa dell’irregolarità del terreno, non è consentito l’accesso ai veicoli.

• Spiaggia Racó de s’AlgaÈ situata sull’isola di Espalmador, che è la continuazione natura-le della punta des Trucadors, dove si trova Illetes. Espalmador è un’isola vergine di 2 km quadrati, priva di costruzioni e soggetta a vincolo paesaggistico. All’interno ospita una laguna di fango che anni fa era frequentata dai turisti per farsi i fanghi, ma essendo un luogo di nidificazione di uccelli, l’uso di questi fanghi è ora vietato, oltre a essere sconsigliato dal punto di vista clinico.

• Spiaggia di LlevantSi estende sul lato est della penisola Es Trucadors. È una spiaggia molto vasta dove, nonostante la vicinanza con la spiaggia turistica di Illetas, è possibile trovare molti angoli tranquilli e reconditi. Generalmente a causa del vento che soffia da est, si formano molte onde e brezze particolarmente gradevoli durante il periodo estivo. Inoltre, presenta un’offerta di diversi ristoranti e chioschi. • Spiagge di Es Pujols e Sa RoquetaLa spiaggia di Es Pujols, a nord-est dell’isola e a forma di conchi-glia, è formata da tratti di spiaggia cosparsa da rocce basse dove si trovano le casette dei pescatori. Il bel viale pedonale è animato e costellato di negozi e ristoranti, nonché, al tramonto, di bancarelle di souvenir. Continuando verso nord si incontra la spiaggia di Sa Roqueta, sepa-rata da Es Pujols solo da alcuni tratti rocciosi, un angolo tranquillo e ideale per le famiglie, che si congiunge con la parte meridionale della spiaggia di Levante.

• Spiaggia di MigjornÈ la spiaggia più lunga dell’isola (5 km); si estende lungo tutto l’arco meridionale formato dall’isola e unisce placide calette di sabbia a zone rocciose. La grande estensione e la situazione geo-grafica fanno di questa spiaggia una delle più tranquille dell’isola. È raggiungibile attraverso numerosi sentieri che attraversano un fitto bosco di sabine. Pur senza essere toccata dal turismo di massa offre ristoranti, chioschi, hotel e centri di sport acquatici lungo la costa.Le diverse zone della spiaggia hanno nomi e toponimi distinti, pertanto spostandosi da ovest verso est si incontrano le seguenti spiagge:es Mal Pas / es Ca Marí / es Códol Foradat / es Arenals / es Copinar / es Caló d’es Mort

• Spiaggia di Cala SaonaQuesta piccola spiaggia (140 m), orientata verso l’ovest dell’isola, è molto visitata per il suo bel paesaggio, dal bosco che la circonda alle vedute della vicina isola di Ibiza, alle belle scogliere di Punta Rasa, cui si può accedere facilmente a piedi, all’offerta di chios-chi o ristoranti. È una caletta molto apprezzata per gli straordinari tramonti che si possono contemplare e per il mare poco profondo, adatto alle famiglie.

• Spiaggia di Ses PlatgetesNella parte orientale dell’isola, sulla tranquilla costa rocciosa di Tramontana, si trova questa piccola zona di spiaggia di sabbia fine situata subito dopo Es Caló, formata da rocce basse che affiorano dal mare.

Consigli Pratici:• Si consiglia di consultare sui giornali locali la direzione del vento

prima di decidere la spiaggia a cui recarsi, dato che si riesce sempre a trovare una spiaggia o un’altra al riparo dal vento, sulla quale splenderà il sole e nelle cui acque non vi saranno onde, come se si trattasse di una piscina. • Il tramonto rappresenta quasi un rito a Formentera. Sia gli abi-tanti del luogo che i turisti approfittano di questo momento della giornata per recarsi su qualche spiaggia o scogliera per con-templarlo. È inoltre abituale riunirsi in qualche chiosco con viste panoramiche per bere mojitos (cocktail a base di rum e menta) o qualche altra bevanda rinfrescante. Grazie all’ubicazione geo-grafica dell’isola, si possono contemplare panorami spettacolari praticamente da qualsiasi luogo, ed in particolare dai punti più occidentali, che permettono di ammirare il sole che tramonta sul mare: il faro di Cap de Barbaria, la spiaggia di Cala Saona, S’Estany des Peix, il porto di La Savina e tutta l’estensione di Illetes.

• Alle famiglie con bambini si consiglia di visitare le principali spia-gge sabbiose: Migjorn, Cala Saona o Illetes. A chi cerca evasione si consiglia invece di addentrarsi nelle spiagge o cale più nascos-te o tranquille: Levante, Espalmador, Ses Platgetes, Sa Roqueta ed i tratti di Migjorn lontani dagli hotel, soprattutto a partire da Ca Marí in direzione Es Mal Pas.

• D’altro canto, dobbiamo avvisare del fatto che il naturismo cos-tituisce una pratica abituale e sempre più diffusa sull’isola. Non esistono in realtà spiagge più o meno appropriate per la sua pra-tica, ma si trovano piuttosto zone miste, in cui prevale la libertà individuale ed il rispetto per gli altri. Tuttavia, dato che le persone

con le stesse preferenze tendono a raggrupparsi, vi sono deter-minate spiagge sulle quali predomina il naturismo e, non a caso, questa pratica è più abituale su quelle meno frequentate dai tu-risti: Levante, Ses Canyes, Sa Roqueta, la costa di Tramuntana, Caló des Mort, alcuni tratti di Migjorn (da Ca Marí verso Es Mal Pas) e l’isola di S’Espalmador.

• A Formentera esistono 2 spiagge adattate a persone con mobili-tà ridotta: Es Pujols ed Arenals. Entrambe sono dotate di: rampe d’accesso, piattaforma ombreggiata, corrimano, sedie anfibie e bagnini. Arenals dispone inoltre di bagni adattati e parcheggio riservato ai portatori di handicap.

Le spiagge dell’isola si sono conservate inalterate per anni, no-nostante l’affluenza dei turisti e l’evoluzione del turismo. Tuttavia, siamo noi, gli uomini, il peggior nemico dell’ambiente, quando abbandoniamo i nostri sacchetti, lattine o mozziconi di sigarette sulla sabbia. Formentera bietet kilometerlange weiße Sandstrände mit kristallklarem Wasser in außergewöhnlichen Farbtönen von Blau bis Türkis, Strände, die ihre Auszeichnung mit einer Flagge wirklich verdienen. Auf der Insel kann man von kleinen einsamen Buchten bis hin zu großen Traum-

stränden alles finden. Und ganz egal wo, überall kann man Ruhe und Entspannung in einer natürlichen Umgebung ohne Massentou-rismus genießen.Formentera unterscheidet sich von anderen mediterranen Urlaubs-zielen durch die Schönheit der größtenteils unverbauten Küste. Seit Jahrzehnten setzt man auf eine nachhaltige Entwicklung, weshalb Urlauber heute Strände von paradiesischer Schönheit genießen können mit allen Einrichtungen und der Sicherheit eines europä-ischen Reiseziels. • Strände des Naturschutzgebietes Ses Salines:Diese Strände befinden sich im Norden der Insel in der Nähe des Hafens La Savina, von wo aus sie leicht zu Fuß oder mit dem Fahr-rad über die Route 4 “Sa Guia” der Grüne Wege erreicht werden können. Besucher, die über die Hauptstraße von Illetes anfahren, erwartet ein großer Parkplatz, wo das Auto gegen eine kleine Ge-bühr abgestellt werden kann. Diese Parkgebühr dient dem Erhalt des Parkplatzes, zudem kann die Zufahrt der Fahrzeuge in das Na-turschutzgebiet so gesteuert werden. Der Zugang zu Fuß, mit dem Fahrrad, dem Elektroauto oder den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln ist kostenlos. • Strand Cavall d’en BorrasDieser Strand ist der am wenigsten vom Hafen entfernte Strand. Er ist ruhig, und das Wasser ist kristallklar. Dahinter liegt ein schöner Sadebaumwald, der während der heißesten Sonnenstunden Schutz bietet.

• Strand IlletesDieser Strand ist die natürliche Verlängerung des Strands Cavall d’en Borrás und zieht sich die gesamte sandbankähnliche Land-

zunge mit Namen Es Trucadors entlang. Der Name des Strandes geht auf die kleinen Inseln zurück, die sich vor der Küste befinden. Dieser Strand ist der bekannteste und beliebteste Strand der Insel, nicht zuletzt wegen des kristallklaren, türkisfarbenen Wassers. In der Regel gibt es hier keine Wellen, und das Meer gleicht einem natürlichen Swimmingpool. Außerdem verfügt der Strand über eine Reihe von Einrichtungen, wie Restaurants und Strandbuden, Lie-gen und Sonnenschirme sowie Angebote für touristische Aktivitä-ten und Wassersportarten. Nichtsdestotrotz finden sich auch hier ruhige und einsame Abschnitte am Ende des Strandes, wo wegen des unebenen Terrains Fahrzeuge keine Zufahrt haben.

• Strand Racó de s’AlgaDieser Strand befindet sich auf der Insel Espalmador, welche hin-ter der Spitze der Landzunge Es Trucadors liegt. Espalmador ist eine unberührte Insel mit einer Fläche von zwei Quadratkilome-tern, die so gut wie nicht bebaut ist und deren Natur besonders geschützt wird. In Landesinneren befindet sich eine Lagune, die in den vergangenen Jahren von Urlaubern wegen ihres Schlamms aufgesucht wurde. Da sie aber ein Vogelnistplatz ist, wurde die Ver-wendung des Schlamms verboten - welche übrigens auch klinisch nicht empfehlenswert ist.

• Strand LlevantDieser Strand zieht sich am östlichen Küstenstreifen der Landzun-ge Es Trucadors entlang. Der Strand ist sehr weitläufig und bietet viele ruhige und einsame Plätzchen, obwohl er ganz in der Nähe des viel besuchten Strands Illetes liegt. Da gewöhnlich der Wind vom Osten kommt, gibt es hier viele Wellen, und im Sommer ist die Brise sehr angenehm. Dane-ben finden sich hier verschiedene Restaurants und Strandbuden. • Strände Es Pujols und Sa RoquetaAn dem muschelförmigen Strand Es Pujols im Nordosten der Insel wechseln sich Sand mit flachen felsigen Abschnitten ab, auf denen sich die Fischerhütten befinden. Der Strand verfügt über eine schö-ne und belebte Strandpromenade mit zahlreichen Geschäften, Res-

taurants und Souvenirständen, die gegen Abend aufgebaut werden. Nördlich von Es Pujols, nur von einigen felsigen Abschnitten ge-trennt, liegt der Strand Sa Roqueta, ein ruhiger und gemütlicher Ort, der sich bis zum südlichen Ende des Strands Levante erstreckt. • Strand MigjornDieser Strand ist mit fünf Kilometern der längste der Insel und zieht sich an dem ganzen südlichen Küstenbogen der Insel entlang, wobei sich ruhige Sandbuchten und felsige Abschnitte abwechseln. Aufgrund seiner Länge und geographischen Lage ist dieser Strand einer der ru-higsten der Insel. Man kann ihn über zahlreiche Wege erreichen, die durch den angrenzenden dichten Sadebaumwald führen. • Erwähnt sei auch, dass FKK auf der Insel üblich ist und immer mehr Anhänger findet. Es gibt keine bestimmten Strände, die sich zum Nacktbaden mehr oder weniger eignen würden. Vielmehr

stößt man in den meisten Bereichen auf gemischtes Baden, die persönliche Freiheit und der Respekt vor den anderen geben auf Formentera den Ton an. Da es jedoch in der Regel meist so ist, dass sich bestimmte Tendenzen herauskristallisieren, gibt be-stimmte Strände, an denen FKK vorherrscht – und es ist wohl kein Zufall, dass es sich vorwiegend um die weniger touristi-schen Strände handelt: Levante, Ses Canyes, Sa Roqueta, Costa de Tramuntana, Caló des Mort, Abschnitte von Migjorn (von Ca Marí bis Mal Pas) und die Insel S’Espalmador.

• Auf Formentera gibt es zwei barrierefreie Strände für behinderte Personen: Es Pujols und Arenals. Beide verfügen über: Zugangs-rampen, Plattform mit Schatten, Handläufe, Badestühle und Rettungsschwimmer. Arenals bietet zudem behindertengerechte Bäder und Behindertenparkplätze.

Die Strände der Insel sind trotz steigender Besucherzahlen und der allgemeinen Entwicklung des Tourismus seit vielen Jahren unver-ändert. • Es Caló de Sant AgustíPequeña y típica población de pescadores, donde se saborea el entorno marinero. Se recomienda visitar su peculiar puerto natu-ral y los restaurantes de comida tradicional de la zona. El paseo por los alrededores está lleno de constrastes: rocas con formas caprichosas, casetas de pescadores dis-persas, las pequeñas calas de arena de Ses Platgetes al oeste y los acantilados de la Mola al este. Además, es sus proximidades se encuentra el punto de partida de la ruta nº 10 “Camí de Sa Pujada” de los Circuitos Verdes para recorrer a pie, puesto que es el ascenso que desde este puerto en su día realizaban los monjes agustinos que habi-taron en su día en la Mola.

• Faro de La MolaEl faro de La Mola, en el extremo oeste de la isla, está considerado por muchos visi-tantes como un lugar mágico, como un faro del fin del mundo. Junto al faro se encuen-tra un monolito en honor al escritor Julio Verne por la mención que éste hace en su libro “Héctor Servadac (viajes y aventuras a través del mundo solar)” de la isla y su faro. El punto más elevado de la isla es Sa

Talaiassa, con 195 metros. Toda la meseta de La Mola es un estupendo punto de parti-da de sendas que discurren entre bosques y que nos adentrarán en los paisajes más rurales y auténticos de la isla, alejado del turismo estival salvo por los días del mer-cado de artesanía.

• Faro del Cap de BarbariaEs Cap de Barbaria, es la elevación rocosa situada más al sur de la isla cuya máxima altitud alcanza los 108 metros y es también un lugar paradisíaco donde se unen sensa-

ciones de inmensa soledad y libertad. En el límite del elevado cabo, vemos alzarse su faro y son muchos los visitantes que re-cuerdan la famosa escena que aquí se rodó de la película “Lucía y el sexo” de Julio Mé-dem. Es lugar de reunión para las puestas de sol por las estupendas vistas del mágico islote “Es Vedrá”. Es necesario visitar y an-dar por este lugar para darse cuenta de su soledad y majestuosidad. A poca distancia del faro se encuentra una torre de vigilancia del siglo XVIII, Torre des Garroveret, que en su momento protegió la isla de invasores.

Formentera es conocida por sus playas y sus aguas transparentes, pero si visitamos su interior encontraremos pequeñas y pintorescas poblaciones, faros, torres y molinos, lagos y salinas, grutas y cuevas ocultas, y bellos bosques de sabinas y pinos que alternan con dunas y rocas de formas caprichosas.

• Estany des PeixEl Estany des Peix es una pequeña laguna con una estrecha apertura al mar que per-mite la entrada de pequeñas embarcacio-nes para su fondeo. Tiene tramos de playa donde es posible el baño. Es un lugar ideal para la práctica de deportes náuticos con embarcaciones de pequeño calado: wind-surf, kayak, vela... Además, recomendamos recorrer su contorno para el disfrute del entorno natural.

• Estany Pudent y Ses SalinesEl Estany Pudent es el gran lago que se encuentra al norte de la isla, entre las po-blaciones de la Savina y de Es Pujols, y en él está prohibido el baño. En cambio, junto con las Salinas que lo rodean, es un lugar muy recomendable para pasear a pie o en bicicleta, tanto por su valor paisajístico como por su importancia para el avista-miento de las numerosas aves que anidan en esta área o bien lo consideran lugar de descanso en sus flujos migratorios.

Las Salinas, además, son testimonio del patrimonio cultural de Formentera ya que constituían la principal fuente económica de la isla antes de la llegada del turismo, y cuya sal se considera de elevada calidad.

• Can Marroig y Punta de Sa PedreraVisitando la costa oriental, entre el puerto de la Savina y Cala Saona, encontramos una costa escarpada formada por un desierto de rocas de extrañas y curio-sas formas, que es conocido como Sa

Pedrera y que fue en su día una cantera. Visitar esta costa desde el mar con una embarcación nos permitirá disfrutar de la enorme riqueza marina que en ella se en-cuentra. Se recomienda para la práctica de esnórquel por su poca profundidad en la proximidad de la costa y es habitual ver las excursiones de buceo por la belleza de su fondo marino con gran presencia de posidonia. • Es Caló of Sant AgustíA small fishing village typical of the area where you can enjoy the seafaring su-rroundings. We recommend you to visit its unique natural harbour and its restaurants, which serve the traditional food of the area. If you take a walk in the surrounding area, you will find many contrasts: whimsically-shaped rocks, scattered fishing huts, the small sandy coves of Ses Platgetes to the west and the cliffs of La Mola to the east. • La Mola LighthouseLa Mola lighthouse at the western end of the island is considered by many visitors as a magical place, like a lighthouse at the end of the world. Next to the lighthouse is a me-morial in honour of the writer Jules Verne, who mentioned the island and the lighthou-se in his book “Off on a Comet”. The hig-hest point of the island is Sa Talaiassa at 195 metres. Anywhere on the La Mola pla-teau is a great starting point for paths that weave their way through forests and take you into the island’s most rural and authen-tic interior, far away from summer tourism except for craft market days.

• Cap de Barbaria LighthouseEs Cap de Barbaria is the rocky elevation located in the south of the island, which ri-ses to 108 metres at its highest point. It is a beautiful place in which you can feel the sensations of extreme isolation and free-dom. The lighthouse stands on the edge of the elevated cape, and many visitors recall the famous scene from the Julio Medem film “Sex and Lucia”, which was shot here. It is an ideal meeting place to watch the sun set behind the magical islet of Es Vedrá. Visiting and exploring this place is a must to get the full impact of its solitude and grandeur. Within walking distance of the

lighthouse is the 18th century lookout tower, Torre des Garroveret, which in its time protected the island from invaders.

• Estany des PeixEstany des Peix is a small lake with a narrow opening to the sea that enables small boats to enter and set anchor. It has stretches of beach where you can bathe. It is an ideal place to do water sports with shallow-draught vessels: windsurfing, kayaking, sailing, etc. It is also highly recommended to explore its surrounding area to enjoy the natural environment.

• Estany Pudent and Ses SalinesPudent is the name of the large lake in the north of the island, between the towns of La Savina and Es Pujols, but bathing is pro-hibited. Instead, we recommend you to go for a walk or bike ride around the lake and neighbouring salt works, which stand out for their scenic beauty and their importan-ce as a place to observe the numerous birds that nest in the area or use it as a place of rest during migration. The Las Salinas salt works are a testament to the cultural heritage of Formentera, since they used to be the main source of income for the island before the arrival of tourism, producing salt of the highest quality.

• Can Marroig and Sa Pedrera PointIf you visit the eastern coast, between the port of La Savina and Cala Saona, you will find a rugged coastline made up of rocks with strange and curious shapes known as Sa Pedrera, which in its time was once a quarry. If you view the coastline from the sea in a boat, you can also enjoy the enormous richness of the sea. The shallow waters close to the shore are recommen-ded for snorkelling and it is common to see visitors on diving excursions exploring the beauty of the sea floor, which is covered in Neptune grass. The varied scenery also includes a nearby forest, in which the Can Marroig estate and picnic area is located along with the neighbouring Sa Gavina lookout tower. • Faro di La MolaIl faro di La Mola, all’estremità occidentale dell’isola, è considerato da molti visitatori un luogo magico, come un faro alla fine del mondo. Vicino al faro si trova un monolito dedicato allo scrittore Jules Verne per la sua menzione dell’isola e del suo faro nel li-

La balneazione al suo interno è vietata. Insieme alle saline che lo circondano è invece un luogo altamente consigliato per passeggiate a piedi o in bici-cletta, sia per il valore paesaggistico che per l’importanza che riveste per l’avvistamento dei numerosi uccelli che nidificano in quest’area o lo considerano un luogo di sosta nei loro flussi migratori. Inoltre, le saline sono una testimonianza del patrimonio culturale di Formentera perché rappresentavano la principale fonte econo-mica dell’isola prima dell’arrivo del turismo. Il loro sale è considerato di alta qualità.

• Can Marroig e Punta de Sa PedreraVisitando il lato orientale dell’isola, tra il porto della Savina e Cala Saona, si trova una costa scoscesa formata da un deser-to di rocce dalle forme strane e curiose, conosciuto come Sa Pedrera, che è stato in passato una cava. Visitare questa costa dal mare con un’imbarcazione consente di godere dell’enorme ricchezza marina presente. • Der Leuchtturm in La MolaDer Leuchtturm La Mola am äußersten westlichen Ende der Insel wird von vielen Besuchern als ein magischer Ort empfun-den, als Leuchtturm am Ende der Welt. Neben dem Leuchtturm befindet sich ein Monolith zu Ehren des Schriftstellers Jules Verne, der die Insel und ihren Leuchtturm in seinem Buch “Hector Servadac (Reise durch die Sonnenwelt)” erwähnte. Abends beobachten viele von hier aus den Sonnenuntergang und genießen den hervorragenden Blick auf die magische Insel Es Vedrá. Man muss an die-sem Ort spazieren gegangen sein, um ein Gefühl für die Abgeschiedenheit und Erha-benheit zu bekommen. Unweit des Leucht-turms findet sich der Wachturm Torre des Garroveret aus dem 18. Jahrhundert, der seinerzeit die Insel vor Invasoren schützte.

• Estany des PeixEstany des Peix ist eine kleine Lagune mit einer schmalen Öffnung zum Meer hin, so-dass kleine Boote hineinfahren können, um dort zu ankern. An kleinen Sandstränden ist das Baden möglich. Die Lagune ist ideal für den Wassersport mit kleineren Booten wie beispielsweise Windsurfing, Kajak und Se-geln. • Estany Pudent und Ses SalinesEstany Pudent ist der große Binnensee im Norden der Insel zwischen den Ortschaften Savina und Es Pujols. Baden ist hier zwar verboten, allerdings eignen sich die Gegend und die Salinen für Spaziergänge oder Fah-rradausflüge. Sehenswert ist die Lands-chaft nicht zuletzt wegen der zahlreichen Vögel, die in dieser Gegend nisten oder sich vor einem Weiterflug ausruhen.

Die Salinen sind zudem ein bedeutendes kulturelles Erbe von Formentera, denn sie stellten einst die wichtigste Einnahmeque-lle der Insel dar, bevor hier der Tourismus Einzug hielt. Das Salz hat den Ruf, von ers-tklassiger Qualität zu sein.

• Can Marroig und Punta de Sa PedreraIm Osten der Insel, zwischen dem Hafen La Savina nd Cala Saona, bildet eine Wüste aus seltsamen und wunderlich geformten Felsen eine schroffe Küste, die unter dem Namen Sa Pedrera bekannt ist und in der Vergangenheit als Steinbruch diente. Wenn

man den Ort mit einem Boot vom Meer aus besichtigt, kommt man in den Genuss einer enorm vielfältigen Meereswelt. Da in Küs-tennähe das Gewässer sehr seicht ist, kann man hier gut schnorcheln, und so gibt es viele Taucher, die die Schönheit der Mee-reswelt und die Neptungräser erkunden. Abgerundet wird diese abwechslungsrei-che Natur durch ein Waldgebiet, in dem sich das Landhaus Can Marroig befindet sowie ein Picknickplatz und der nahegelegene Wachturm Sa Gavina. Die Route 1 “Camí de Can Marroig” der Grüne Wege verbindet die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten.

Para los aficionados al senderismo y al cicloturismo, la isla dispone de 12 Circuitos Verdes debidamente señalizados, que transcurren por zonas de especial interés paisajístico.

SubmarinismoLa isla de Formentera posee unas características inmejorables para la práctica del submarinismo donde el mar sorprende por su transparencia y colorido. Sus costas constituyen uno de los pocos rincones bien conservados del Mediterráneo. No en vano, aquí se encuentra la Reserva Marina de Es Freus de Ibiza y Formentera, que es el único espacio natural de todo el Mediterráneo incluido en la lista de Bienes Patrimonio de la Humanidad de la Unesco.Respecto a las inmersiones, lo primero que destaca es la excelente visibilidad (hasta 50 metros) y la variedad de su paisaje submarino: cuevas, paredes con gorgonias, pecios, inmersiones poco profun-das de bellísimo paisaje y praderas de posidonia, consideradas las mejor conservadas del Mediterráneo.La temperatura del agua es de aproximadamente 30ºC en verano, 22ºC en primavera y otoño y 15ºC en invierno.

KayakEl litoral de la isla posee unas condiciones extraordinarias para la práctica del kayak de mar, además de ser la única forma de ac-ceso a las recónditas cuevas y pasajes generados por la erosión del viento y el mar en sus rocas calcáreas. Existen 6 rutas reco-mendadas por su interés paisajístico, así como diversos centros de turismo activo que prestan todos los servicios necesarios para su práctica.

NáuticaFormentera, paraíso del navegante y de los deportes náuticos, ofre-ce 66 km de un litoral muy diverso.El azul turquesa de sus aguas, la alternancia de acantilados de paredes verticales y playas de arenas blancas forman un paisaje idílico para la navegación a vela. Además, las distancias son lo su-ficientemente cortas como para desplazarse de norte a sur de la isla en un par de horas. Durante el periodo estival reinan vientos ligeros o medios, de entre 5 y 15 nudos y son principalmente de componente Este. Durante el invierno encontramos generalmente viento de componente Oeste y con todos los extremos: desde temporales con vientos superiores a 30 nudos a la absoluta calma. Por ello, Formentera es un lugar idóneo durante el verano para la navegación de crucero en familia; y la iniciación y para navegantes expertos durante el invierno. Son tan idóneas las condiciones que ofrece esta isla para la práctica y la tecnificación deportiva, que diversos deportistas han instalado en ella su base de entrenamiento.

Circuitos VerdesDadas las características de Formentera, resulta evidente que la forma ideal para recorrerla es a pie o en bicicleta, que además de no resultar contaminante permite visitar tranquilamente lugares insólitos que de otra forma pasan inadvertidos. Formentera cuenta con 12 circuitos polivalentes que pueden reco-rrerse a pie, en Marcha Nórdica o en bicicleta. La Marcha Nórdica (o Nórdic Walking) es una de las disciplinas deportivas más reco-mendadas actualmente por su sencillez y efectividad.

El equipamiento necesario para su práctica se encuentra disponi-ble para los visitantes que los soliciten en las oficinas de turismo.Para los amantes de la bicicleta la isla representa la comodidad de poseer una geografía prácticamente plana por lo que recomen-damos su uso, al tiempo que colaborará con la conservación del entorno.

Observación de AvesFormentera posee la flora y fauna propia de los humedales, es-pecialmente en la zona del Estany Pudent y las Salinas. Por ello fue incluída en el convenio RAMSAR de humedales protegidos en 1993. Nautische SportartenFormentera ist ein Paradies für Liebhaber nautischer Sportarten, die Insel bietet eine 66 Kilometer lange abwechslungsreiche Küste.Die blau-türkisfarbenen Gewässer, die Steilküsten und weißen Sandstrände bilden einen idyllischen Hintergrund für den Se-gelsport. Außerdem sind die Entfernungen so gering, dass man in nur ein paar Stun-den vom Norden bis zum Süden der Insel gelangen kann. Im Sommer bläst mit zwischen fünf und 15 Knoten ein leichter bis mittelstarker Wind, vornehmlich aus östlicher Richtung. Formentera bietet 12 Wege, die man auf unterschiedliche Weise zurücklegen kann, etwa per Nordic Walking oder mit dem Fahrrad. Nordic Walking ist eine der derzeit am häufigsten empfohlenen Sportarten, da sie einfach und doch wirkungsvoll ist. MONUMENTOS1 - Iglesia de Sant Francesc XavierEl aspecto de este templo es sobrio y por el grosor de sus muros recuerda su función de fortificación contra las invasiones. Destaca su puerta revestida de planchas de hierro. La iglesia fue terminada en 1738 y está situada en la capital de la isla frente al Consell Insular.

2 – Capilla de Sa Tanca VellaConstruida en la segunda mitad del Siglo XIV, bajo la advocación de San Valero, esta capilla es de pequeño tamaño y está cubierta por una bóveda de cañón. Está situada en la población de Sant Fran-cesc Xavier y desde 1986 es de propiedad municipal.

3 - Asentamiento Megalítico de Cap de BarbariaLos Yacimientos del Cap de Barbaria demuestran que esta zona de la isla estuvo densamente poblada entorno al 1.600 – 1.000 a.C. Se trata de 3 yacimientos diferentes que han aportado hallazgos significativos tales como cerámicas, huesos y una pieza de bronce.

4 - Castellum Romano de Can BlaiRestos de una fortificación rectangular con una torre en cada es-quina y otra más para resguardar la entrada. Su situación en el Km 10 entre La Savina y La Mola y en zona alta, demuestran el interés de sus habitantes por controlar toda la costa.

5 - Molí Vell de La MolaEs uno de los siete molinos de viento para moler grano que llegaron a funcionar en la isla. Ya lo encontramos documentado en 1.778 y actualmente conserva su aspecto original así como la maquinaria interna de origen. En la temporada estival es posible visitarlo.

6 - Yacimiento Megalítico de Ca Na CostaYacimiento funerario que tuvo una larga ocupación, aproximada-mente entre el 2.000 y 1.600 a.C. Su presencia demuestra que en la isla ya había una población estable al final del tercer milenio a.C. Consta de una cámara central delimitada por grandes losas, tres círculos concéntricos de empedrado y diversos radios que actúan de contrafuerte, así como un pasadizo de acceso.

hiSTOriCAL SiTES1. Sant Francesc Xavier ChurchThis church has a sober appearance and the thickness of its walls reminds you of its role as a fortress to repel invaders. Its door, forti-fied with iron plates, is of particular note. The church was com-pleted in 1738 and is located in the island’s capital opposite the regional government offices (the Consell Insular).

2. Sa Tanca Vella ChapelBuilt in the second half of the 14th century and dedicated to San Valero, this chapel is small in size and covered by a barrel vault.

It is located in the town of Sant Francesc Xavier and has been the property of the local council since 1986.

3. Cap de Barbaria Megalithic SettlementThe archaeological site at Cap de Barbaria shows that this area of the island was densely populated between 1600 and 1000 BC. There are three different sites in which significant discoveries have been made such as ceramics, bones and a piece of bronze.

4. The Roman Castellum at Can Blai. Remains of a rectangular fortification with a tower at each corner and another to protect the

5. Castell Vell of La MolaThis is one of the seven windmills on the island that were used to mill grain. It was documented as early as 1778 and still retains its original appearance as well as its original machinery inside. Holi-daymakers can visit it during the summer season.

6. Ca Na Costa Megalithic SettlementA burial site that was used between approximately 2000 and 1600 BC. Its existence shows that the island had a stable pop-ulation at the end of the third millennium BC. It consists of a central chamber surrounded by large stone slabs, three paved concentric circles, various radiuses that served as buttresses and an access passage.

2 – Cappella di Sa Tanca VellaCostruita nella seconda metà del XIV secolo e dedicata a San Va-lero, questa cappella è di piccole dimensioni ed è coperta da una volta a botte o cilindrica. Si trova nel paesino di Sant Francesc Xa-vier e dal 1986 è diventata proprietà municipale.

3 - Insediamento Megalitico di Cap de BarbariaLe zone archeologiche di Cap de Barbaria testimoniano che questa parte dell’isola è stata densamente popolata intorno al 1600-1000 a.C. Si tratta di tre diverse zone archeologiche in cui sono avven-uti ritrovamenti significativi, come ceramiche, ossi e un pezzo di bronzo.

4 - Castello Romano di Can BlaiResti di una fortificazione rettangolare con una torre in ogni angolo più un’altra per sorvegliare l’entrata. La sua ubicazione al Km 10 tra La Savina e La Mola e in zona sopraelevata, dimostra la volontà degli abitanti di controllare tutta la costa.

5 - Molí Vell di La MolaÈ uno dei sette mulini a vento per macinare il grano che sono stati in funzione sull’isola. La sua presenza è documentata fin dal 1778 e il mulino conserva attualmente sia l’aspetto che il macchinario interno originali. È possibile visitarlo durante la stagione estiva.

6 - Insediamento Megalitico di Ca Na CostaInsediamento funerario ampiamente utilizzato per molti anni, approssimativamente tra il 2000 e il 1600 a.C. La sua presenza dimostra che sull’isola esisteva già una popolazione stabile alla fine del terzo millennio a.C. È composto da una camera sepol-crale centrale delimitata da grandi lastre, tre cerchi concentrici di pietre, vari raggi che fungono da contrafforte e un corridoio di accesso.

BAUWErKE1 - Die Kirche Sant Francesc XavierDiese schlichte Kirche erinnert aufgrund der dicken Mauern an ihre Funktion als Festungsbau gegen Überfälle. Auffällig ist die mit Ei-senplatten verstärkte Tür. Die im Jahr 1738 fertiggestellte Kirche liegt im Hauptort Sant Francesc de Formentera gegenüber dem Inselrat (Consell Insular).

2 – Die Kapelle Sa Tanca VellaErrichtet wurde die kleine Kapelle mit einem Tonnengewölbe, die dem heiligen Valero gewidmet wurde, in der zweiten Hälfte des 14. Jahrhunderts. Sie liegt in der Ortschaft Sant Francesc Xavier und ist seit 1986 Eigentum der Gemeinde.

3 - Megalithische Siedlung Am Cap de BarbariaDie Fundstätten am Cap de Barbaria belegen, dass die Insel von etwa 1600 bis 1000 v. Chr. dicht bevölkert war. Es gibt drei Funds-tätten, die bedeutende Funde wie Keramiken, Knochen und einen Bronzegegenstand aufweisen.

4 - Romanisches Castell in Can BlaiReste einer rechteckigen Festung mit Türmen an jeder der vier Ec-ken und einem weiteren Turm zur Bewachung des Eingangs. Ihre Lage auf einer Anhöhe am Kilometer 10 zwischen La Savina und La Mola belegt das Interesse der Bewohner, die gesamte Küste zu überwachen.

5 - Molí Vell in La MolaEine der sieben Windmühlen, in der auf der Insel Getreide gema-hlen wurde. Bereits 1778 wurde sie urkundlich erwähnt. Sie sieht noch heute aus wie damals, das Originalmahlwerk im Inneren ist noch erhalten. In der Sommersaison kann sie besichtigt werden.

6 - Megalitische Fundstätte in Ca Na CostaBestattungsstätte, die lange Zeit (von ungefähr 2000 bis 1600 v. Chr.) genutzt wurde. Sie beweist, dass bereits im ausgehenden dritten Jahrtausend v. Chr. Menschen auf der Insel dauerhaft sie-delten. Hier findet sich eine zentrale Grabkammer, die durch große Steinplatten begrenzt ist, drei gepflasterte konzentrische Kreise mit verschiedenen Radien, die als Verstärkung dienten, sowie ein Gang, durch den man in die Grabstätte gelangt.

COMPrAS HORARIOSLos horarios comerciales habituales son de 9 a 14 h y de 17 a 20 h. Sin embargo, muchos establecimientos en temporada estival, permanecen abiertos al mediodía y hasta medianoche, inclusive domingos y festivos.

MERCADOS En general, los mercados funcionan a partir de primeros de mayo hasta mediados de octubre. Los Mercados Artesanos y Artísticos cuen-tan con una garantía expedida por el Con-sell de Formentera que garantiza que los productos que en ellos se comercializan están diseñados y elaborados en talleres de la isla. De esta forma, por un lado, se pretende dinamizar y distinguir la artesanía autóctona y por otro, la calidad de los artis-tas cuya inspiración se basa en Formente-ra. En los Mercados Artesanos se encuentra artesanía tradicional: joyería, trabajos en cristal, cerámica, cuero, material reciclado, etc. Y en el Mercado Artístico se pueden encontrar obras realizadas con materiales reciclados y arte en general. Todas ellas constituyen un recuerdo de la isla con per-sonalidad.

• Mercado Artesano de La Mola: miér-coles y domingos de 16 a 22 horas. Es el principal mercado de Formentera tanto por número de vendedores como por el de visi-tantes, y se ha convertido en un importante punto de encuentro. En su plaza central se encuentra habitualmente música en vivo, y sus alrededores se animan con terrazas de los bares vecinos. Nació de una iniciativa privada de diversos artistas y artesanos y en la actualidad lucha por mantener el mismo concepto inicial: mostrar, vender y promover la artesanía, haciendo posible un estilo de vida alternativo dentro de esta sociedad in-dustrializada.

• Mercado Artesano de Sant Ferran: jueves, viernes y sábados por las tardes-noches. Durante el mes de agosto, se am-plía a los lunes y los martes. Este mercado, aunque es nuevo, se ha convertido en un importante punto de venta de artesanía, amenizada también todos los sábados con música en vivo.

• Mercado Artístico de Sant Ferran: dia-rio por las tardes-noches excepto miérco-les y domingos. Se ha consolidado como un importante lugar de encuentro donde pintores y artistas exponen diariamente su

arte basado en la isla. Además, cuenta con actividades dinamizadoras y estimulantes para los más pequeños.

• Centro artesano “Antoni Tur Gabrielet”: es un centro de exposición de Artesanía con talleres para la recuperación de la artesanía local y por otra parte, también acoge un “mercado pagés” con venta de productos alimentarios autóctonos. De lu-nes a sábado.

All of these pieces are a reminder of the island with a great personality. • La Mola Craft Market: Wednesdays and Sundays from 4 pm to 10 pm. This is Formentera’s main market in terms of the number of sellers and visitors, and has be-come an important focal point. In its central square there is usually live music and around it, there are numerous lively terrace bars. It started out as a private initiative started by va-rious artists and artisans, which endeavours to remain faithful to its initial concept: showing, selling and promoting arts and crafts, making an alternative lifestyle possible within an in-dustrialised society.

• Sant Ferran Craft Market: Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, late afternoon and evening. This is extended to Mondays and Tuesdays in August. Although it was only set up recently, this market has become a great place to find crafts items and there is live music every Saturday.

• Sant Ferran Art Market: daily in the eve-ning except Wednesdays and Sundays. This

has become a favourite place for painters and artists to meet every day and exhibit their island-themed artworks. There are also entertaining and stimulating activities for children.

• Antoni Tur Gabrielet Craft Centre: An arts and crafts exhibition centre with work-shops, which seeks to sustain local arts and crafts. It also plays host to a farmers’ market selling local foods. From Monday to Saturday

Er ist der größte Markt auf Formentera, sowohl was die Anzahl der Anbieter als auch was die Besucherzahl anbelangt, und hat sich zu einem wichti-gen Treffpunkt entwickelt. • Kunsthandwerkermarkt Sant Ferran: Donnerstags, freitags und samstags jeweils abends. Im August auch montags und diens-tags. Dieser Markt ist zwar neu, doch er hat sich zu einem bedeutenden Verkaufspunkt für Kunsthandwerk entwickelt. Samstags sorgt zudem Livemusik für Atmosphäre.

• Kunstmarkt Sant Ferran: Täglich abends ausser Mittwochs und Sonnstags. Hat sich als bedeutender Treffpunkt eta-bliert, an dem Maler und Künstler täglich ihre auf der Insel beheimatete Kunst ausstellen. Dazu kommen zusätzliche Akti-vitäten für Kinder, die auch zum Kunstma-chen anregen.

• Zentrum des Kunsthandwerks “Antoni Tur Gabrielet”: Ein Zentrum zur Ausstellung von Kunsthandwerk mit Arbeitsgruppen zur Wiederbelebung des Kunsthandwerks vor Ort. Außerdem befindet sich hier der Merca-do Payés, auf dem auf der Insel produzierte Lebensmittel verkauft werden. Von Montag bis Samstag.

GASTrONOMÍAPRODUCTOS TRADICIONALESUna de las formas de dar a conocer la gastrono-mía típica de la isla es la promoción de los pro-ductos autóctonos de alta calidad más diferen-ciadores, entre los que destacan los siguientes:

• Peix secEn Formentera, antiguamente los pescadores se-caban el pescado para aprovecharlo y consumir-lo durante todo el año. Hoy en día, ya se ha con-vertido en un atractivo gastronómico de la isla y ha obtenido el aval «Arca del gusto», otorgado por la organización internacional de Slow food. Hay numerosas especies aptas para ser secadas y saladas, pero las más utilizadas son las de pe-ces cartilaginosos que tienen la piel resistente y sin escama como rayas, musolas y cazones.El proceso se realiza cortando en filetes el pes-cado limpio pero sin quitarle la piel. Se deja en remojo en salmuera (mezcla con base de agua y sal) entre 30 a 60 minutos, según el tamaño del pescado, se saca de la salmuera y se deja secar al sol (1-4 días), colgando los filetes en las puntas de ramas de sabinas. Una vez seco el pescado, se tuesta al fuego, desmenuza y con-serva en envases de vidrio con aceite de oliva. El «Peix sec» se puede conservar durante meses. Su textura es dura, huele a mar y sabe a sal. Es el

ingrediente estrella de la ensalada payesa, que puede degustarse en numerosos restaurantes de la isla. Más información en: www.peixsec.com

• Sal líquidaLa sal líquida de Formentera es una sal natural proveniente del mar, sin ningún tipo de aditivo de color o sabor. Su alta calidad se debe principalmente a la potente filtración, oxigenación y mi-neralización que ofrece el agua de mar, y a la vez también recibe el efecto de la Posidonia Oceánica de la Reserva Marina. Se tra-ta, por tanto, de aguas marinas posidónicas, es decir, aguas vivas en cuanto al valor orgánico y de biodisponibilidad de minerales y oligoelementos que contienen para el cuerpo humano, que son hasta diez veces superior al de otras sales de origen natural. • VinoEn Formentera ha existido mucha tradición de vitivinicultura desde tiempos inmemorables y cuenta con casi 80 hectáreas de viña. Los vinos de la isla son muy apreciados porque el pie de las vides mayori-tariamente es pie franco, es decir, no se utiliza el pie americano como en la gran parte de Europa. Esto es debido a que la plaga de filoxera, que destruyó los viñedos de pie europeo durante la segunda mitad del siglo XIX, no afectó a los viñedos de Formentera, en parte gracias al ais-lamiento geográfico. También en muchas casas se fabrica el tradicional «vi pagès», generalmente para el autoconsumo.La bodega Terramoll en La Mola inicia su andadura en el año 2000 con el objetivo de elaborar un producto pionero en el mercado, un vino íntegramente formenterense, en el que se conjuguen tradición y modernidad. • Otros productos:- La miel «Es Morer» es un producto autóctono que debe su exce-

lente calidad a la flora de secano y a la ausencia de productos químicos. Según la época se hace de romero o de frígola (tomillo)

- Los higos secos fueron durante mucho tiempo uno de los produc-tos básicos en la despensa local y hoy en día son muy apreciados por su intenso sabor, resaltado por el anís y el laurel con los que se aromatizan en el proceso de elaboración. Acompañados de queso y almendras, resulta un postre excelente.

- El queso fresco de Formentera generalmente es mixto (de cabra y oveja) y al ser realizado para el autoconsumo, sigue las pautas de la elaboración tradicional.

- El bescuit es el pan que resulta del horneado prolongado, lo que le confiere una consistencia similar al pan tostado, de hecho, pre-cisa ser hidratado antes de ser consumido. Constituye uno de los ingredientes más peculiares de la ensalada payesa.

- El licor de hierbas se comercializa mayoritariamente en Ibiza, pero en numerosos hogares y restaurantes de Formentera se elabora un licor de hierbas casero, aprovechando las numerosas hierbas aromáticas de la isla. Siendo el más característico el rea-lizado con frígola (tomillo).

La Asociación Gastronómica Es Morter, de reciente creación, respon-de al deseo de poner en común toda una serie de inquietudes en torno

a la gastronomía de Formentera. Entre sus objetivos está el de divul-gar y fomentar la cocina autóctona, así como dar a conocer la gastro-nomía local. Para ello, organizan degustaciones y catas. Ofreciendo asimismo, servicios de asesoría de restaurantes, en sala y en cocina, así como organización de eventos y viajes, ya sean tours gastronó-micos o asistencia a ferias, convenciones y congresos nacionales.

• Peix sec (Dried fish)In Formentera, fishermen used to dry fish to preserve it so it could be eaten all year round. These days, dried fish has become one of the island’s gastronomic attractions and is listed in the “Ark of Tas-te” catalogue maintained by the international Slow Food organisa-tion. Many kinds of species are suitable for being dried and salted, but the most common ones are cartilaginous fish with a thick skin and no scales, such as ray, musola (common smooth hound shark) and cazón (school shark).

The process involves cutting the clean fish into fillets but without removing the skin. The fillets are soaked in brine (a salt and water-based mixture) for between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on the size of the fish; they are then left to dry in the sun (1-4 days), with the fillets hanging from sharpened juniper branches. Once the fish is dried, it is toasted over a fire, flaked and preserved in glass jars filled with olive oil. Peix sec can be kept for months. It has a hard texture, smells of the sea and is salty to the taste. It is the star ingredient of the “payesa” salad, a country-style salad you can try in many of the island’s restau-rants. • Liquid saltFormentera’s liquid salt is a natural salt obtained straight from the sea, with no colour or flavouring additives. Its high quality comes from the powerful filtering, oxygenising and mineralising action of seawater, plus it also benefits from the effects of the posidonia oceanica growing in the Marine Reserve. This is known as “po-sidonic” seawater, that is, living water in which the organic value and bio-availability of minerals and trace elements for the human body is up to ten times higher than that found in other naturally occurring salts. • WineFormentera has always had a wine-producing tradition since time immemorial and has nearly 80 hectares of vineyards. The island’s wines are highly valued, as the majority of vines are from ungrafted root stock, meaning that growers do not use American root stock, unlike most European vineyards. This is because the phylloxera plague that devastated European rootstock vines during the second half of the 19th century did not affect Formentera’s vines, partly due to their isolated location. • Other products:- “Es Morer” honey is a local product that owes its excellent quality

to the flowers growing on non-irrigated land and the absence of chemical products. Depending on the season, the honey is produ-ced either from rosemary or frígola (thyme).

- For a long time, dried figs were a staple store cupboard item and nowadays they are still highly valued for their intense flavour, accentuated by the aroma of aniseed and bay leaves used during the production process. Eaten together with cheese and almonds, they are a delicious way of rounding off any meal.

- Formentera fresh cheese is generally a mix of goat and sheep’s milk, and as it is usually made at home for the family to eat, the traditional process is still followed.

- Bescuit is bread that has been baked in the oven for a long time, giving it a consistency similar to that of toasted bread, in fact it needs to be soaked before use. It is one of the most distinctive ingredients of the “payesa” salad (country salad).

- Herb liquor is sold mainly on Ibiza, but many homes and restau-rants on Formentera make their own versions, making the most of the aromatic herbs growing all over the island. The most popular one is made with frígola (thyme).

Es Morter Gastronomy Association was set up recently to address a series of issues and concerns surrounding Formentera’s gas-tronomy. Its aims include publicising and promoting local island cooking, as well as raising awareness of local gastronomy. One of the ways the association does this is by holding food and wine tasting sessions. It also provides a restaurant advisory service, both front of house and in the kitchen, and it organises events and trips, including gastronomy tours, trips to trade fairs, conventions and national conferences.

GASTrONOMiAPRODOTTI TRADIZIONALIUno dei modi di diffondere la gastronomia tipica dell’isola è cos-tituito dalla promozione dei prodotti autoctoni di alta qualità più caratteristici, tra i quali spiccano i seguenti:

• Peix sec (Pesce secco)A Formentera, un tempo i pescatori seccavano il pesce per poter utilizzarlo e consumarlo durante tutto l’anno. Oggigiorno, questo alimento è ormai diventato un’attrattiva gastronomica dell’isola, ot-tenendo la garanzia <Arca del gusto>, conferita dall’organizzazione internazionale di Slow Food. Vi sono numerose specie di pesce ido-nee ad essere seccate e salate, ma le più usate sono quelle di pesci cartilaginei che possiedono una pelle resistente e senza squame, come razze, palombi e canesche. Il processo si realizza tagliando in filetti il pesce pulito, senza però togliere la pelle. Si lascia a mollo in salamoia (miscuglio a base di acqua e sale) da 30 a 60 minuti, a secondo delle dimensioni del pesce, si ritira e si lascia seccare al sole (1-4 giorni), appendendo i filetti alle punte dei rami di sabine. Una volta che il pesce è secco, si tosta sul fuoco, si sminuzza e si conserva in barattoli di vetro sott’olio d’oliva. Il “peix sec” si può conservare per mesi. La sua consistenza è dura, ha odore di mare e sapore di sale. È l’ingrediente principale dell’insalata pagesa (con-tadina), che si può gustare in numerosi ristoranti dell’isola. • Sale liquidoIl sale liquido di Formentera è un sale naturale, proveniente dal mare, che non presenta nessun tipo di colorante o esaltatore di sapidità. La sua alta qualità è dovuta principalmente alla potente filtrazione, ossi-genazione e mineralizzazione che offre l’acqua marina e, allo stesso tempo, all’effetto della Posidonia Oceanica (tipo di alga) della Riserva

Marina. Si tratta quindi di acque marine posidoniche, ovvero, acque vive, considerato il loro alto contenuto organico e la biodisponibilità di minerali ed oligoelementi utili per il corpo umano. Questi valori sono fino a dieci volte superiori a quelli di altri tipi di sale di origine naturale. Il sale liquido si vende sotto forma di spray, un sistema pratico, che per-mette d’impregnare in modo omogeneo gli alimenti, favorendo il loro assorbimento rapido del sale. • VinoA Formentera vi è una grande tradizione di vitivinicoltura da tempi im-memorabili e sono presenti quasi 80 ettari di vigneti. I vini dell’isola sono molto apprezzati, perché il fusto delle viti è nella maggior parte dei casi non innestato, vale a dire, non si utilizza il fusto innestato al rizoma ame-ricano come in gran parte dell’Europa. Ciò è dovuto al fatto che la piaga di fillossera, che distrusse i vigneti con fusti europei durante la seconda metà dell’Ottocento, non colpì i vigneti di Formentera, in parte grazie all’isolamento geografico. Anche in molte case si produce il tradizionale “vi pagès” (vino contadino), generalmente per l’autoconsumo.La cantina Terramoll, di La Mola, entrò in funzione nel 2000, prefi-ggendosi l’obiettivo di elaborare un prodotto all’avanguardia nel mercato, un vino di Formentera al cento per cento, nel quale unire tradizione e modernità. • Altri prodotti- Il miele “Es Morer” è un prodotto autoctono, che deve la sua ec-

cellente qualità alla flora dei terreni non irrigati ed all’assenza di prodotti chimici. A seconda della stagione viene elaborato con rosmarino o frígola (timo).

- I fichi secchi sono stati per molto tempo uno dei prodotti di base delle dispense del luogo ed oggigiorno sono molto apprezzati per il loro sapore intenso, esaltato dall’anice e l’alloro con cui ven-gono aromatizzati nel corso del processo di elaborazione. Ac-compagnati da formaggio e mandorle risultano un ottimo dessert.

- Il formaggio fresco di Formentera è generalmente misto (caprino ed ovino) e segue le fasi di elaborazione tradizionale, dato che è prodotto per l’autoconsumo.

GASTrONOMiETRADITIONELLE PRODUKTEDie typische Gastronomie der Insel macht man am besten über ihre ureigenen, hochwertigen Produkte und Erzeugnisse bekannt. Die folgenden, einzigartigen Spezialitäten seien hervorgehoben:

• Peix sec - StockfischFrüher trockneten die Fischer auf Formentera ihren Fang und ma-chten ihn so für das ganze Jahr haltbar. Längst ist daraus einer der gastronomischen Reize der Insel geworden, und obendrein wurde Peix Sec von dem internationalen Verein Slow Food die Auszeich-nung <Arca del gusto> verliehen. Zahlreiche Fischarten eignen sich zum trocknen und einsalzen, doch am häufigsten verwendet man Knorpelfisch mit fester Haut und ohne Schuppen: Rochen, Gla-tthai oder Hundshai.Zur Verarbeitung wird der Fisch gewaschen und filetiert, doch nicht gehäutet. Die Filets werden 30 bis 60 Minuten in Salmuera (eine Mischung von Wasser und Salz) mariniert, je nach Größe der Stücke. Dann werden sie aus der Salmuera genommen und an der Sonne getrocknet (1–4 Tage). Dazu werden die Filets an die Astspitzen von Phönizischem Wacholder gehängt. Sobald der Fisch getrocknet ist, wird er über dem Feuer geröstet, zerkleinert und in Glasgefäßen mit Olivenöl eingelegt. „Peix sec“ hält sich über Monate hinweg. Seine Textur ist hart, er duftet nach Meer und schmeckt nach Salz. Er ist die wichtigste Zutat von Ensalada Pagesa – ein Salatgericht, das man in vielen Restaurants der Insel bekommt. • Sal líquida – Flüssiges salzSal Liquida ist reines Meersalz ohne jegliche Zusatzstoffe, Färbemit-tel oder Geschmacksverstärker. Seine hohe Qualität verdankt das „flüssige Salz“ der wirksamen Filtrierung sowie der Anreicherung mit Sauerstoff und Mineralien, die das Meerwasser bietet. Die See-graswiesen aus Posidonia des Meeresreservats leisten dazu einen unschätzbaren Beitrag. Es handelt sich also um Meerwasser aus Seegraswiesen – aus lebendigen Gewässern mit wertvollen organis-chen Anteilen, biodisponiblen Mineralien und für den menschlichen Organismus wichtigen Spurenelementen in einer Konzentration, die bis zu zehnmal höher liegt, als bei anderen natürlichen Salzen. Flüssiges Salz gibt es im praktischen Spray-Format (Zerstäuber). So lassen sich die Lebensmittel gleichmäßig befeuchten, was eine zügige Absorption des Salzes zur Folge hat. Eignet sich ideal für

L’“Associazione Gastronomica Es Morter”, di recente creazione, risponde al desiderio di condividere tutta una serie di preoccupa-zioni riguardanti la gastronomia di Formentera. Tra i suoi obiettivi vi sono la diffusione e l’incentivazione della cucina autoctona, nonché la divulgazione della gastronomia locale. A tal fine ven-gono organizzati assaggi e degustazioni. • WeinDer Weinanbau ist auf Formentera eine seit langer Zeit verwurzelte Tradition und es gibt fast 80 Hektar Anbaufläche. Sehr geschätzt an den Weinen der Insel ist die Tatsache, dass der Rebbestand überwiegend aus wurzelechten Selbstträgern, also nicht auf ame-rikanische Unterlagsreben gepfropften Weinstöcken bestehen – eine Seltenheit in Europa. Grund dafür ist die Reblausplage, die in der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts die Weinberge Europas zerstörte, die Bestände Formenteras jedoch verschonte, was zum Teil auf die geografische Abgeschiedenheit zurückzuführen ist. • Weitere Produkte und Erzeugnisse:- Der Honig „Es Morer“ ist ein traditionelles Erzeugnis und ver-

dankt seine hervorragende Qualität der spezifischen Flora der Trockenwiesen und der Abwesenheit jeglicher chemischer Umwelteinflüsse. Je nach Jahreszeit wird sortenreiner Ros-marin- (Romero) oder Thymianhonig (Frígola) hergestellt.

- Getrocknete Feigenwaren lange Zeit eines der Grundnahrungs-mittel in der lokalen Speisekamme. Heute schätzt man sie wegen ihres intensiven Geschmacks. Dieser wird zusätzlich durch Anis und Lorbeer verstärkt, die bei der Herstellung zur Aromatisierung verwendet werden. Zu Käse und Mandeln ein köstliches Dessert.

- Frischkäse von Formentera ist in der Regel Mischkäse (Ziege und Schaf). Da er für den Eigenverbrauch bestimm ist, wird er mit tra-ditionellen Methoden hergestellt.

- Bescuit ist ein Brot, das durch besonders langes Backen eine Konsistenz erhält, die dem Toast ähnlich ist. Und tatsächlich muss es vor dem Verzehr angefeuchtet werden. Ist eine der unverken-nbaren Zutaten des Bauernsalats „Ensalada Pagesa“.

- Licor de Hierbas wird vor allem auf Ibiza vertrieben, doch auf Formentera stellen viele Haushalte und Restaurants ihren haus-gemachten Kräuterlikör her. Dazu werden die vielfältigen, auf der Insel heimischen Kräuter verwendet. Besonders charakteristisch ist Kräuterlikör aus „Frígola“ (Thymian).

Der jüngst gegründete, gastronomische Verein „Asociación Gastronó-mica Es Morter” hat sich vorgenommen, eine Vielzahl von Bestrebun-gen im Bereich Gastronomie auf Formentera zu bündeln. Zu seinen Zielen gehört es, die traditionelle Küche und das gastronomische An-gebot Formenteras bekannt zu machen und zu fördern. Dazu werden Verkostungen und Weinproben veranstaltet. Geboten werden zudem Beratungstätigkeiten für Restaurants im Bereich Küche und Service im Speisesaal, es werden Events und Reisen veranstaltet, darunter gas-tronomische Touren sowie die Teilnahme an Messen, Tagungen und landesweiten Kongressen.
