Have you ever wondered…
What is forgiveness?
YES?! WELL,
You are viewing the right
PowerPoint!
• There are 3 types of forgiveness.
1. DIRECT FORGIVENESS
DIRECTLY forgiving someone.
2. INDIRECT FORGIVENESS
An underst

On Condition
• 3. Conditional Forgiveness
Forgiving, but with a condition or stipulation
Like making someone sleep on the couch maybe?
So WHO forgives or is faced with forgiveness?
EVERYONE!!!
At some point in everyone’s life, we are all faced with the choice of forgiving someone or something, but we all choose to forgive in a different way.
When forgiving someone or asking
for forgiveness it is ALL about how
you communicate with them.
Whether it is in writing or in
person, communication is key to
relaying the forgiveness to that
person.
So what have people disagreed on in the field of forgiveness in interpersonal relationships?
The biggest
criticism/disagreement
has to do with how
forgivable certain
transgressions are to
certain types of people.
• Personally, it is really interesting to
see how people forgive in different
situations and in different
relationships using the three different
types.
For example, in a study conducted by Andy Merolla, the results showed that indirect forgiveness was the most common followed by direct then conditional, but the interesting part was that conditional was the most common in dating relationships….
HMMM…
So yeah…
That was my PowerPoint. I hope you enjoyed it and didn’t fall asleep or get distracted. But if you did, I FORGIVE you.
