Introduction Each year, more and more high school seniors are contemplating a college education. One

of the major questions facing each of these seniors is HOW DO I FINANCE THIS COLLEGE

EDUCATION? Part of the problem has been met by non-college sources such as governmental

and private organizations, clubs, schools, etc. This booklet has been compiled for Watertown

High School students to help them in their quest for financial support for higher education.

Students should remember, however, that this is only a partial listing and they should check

every available source for further financial aid (fastweb.com, fraternal organizations, religious

groups, colleges, etc.).

It should also be remembered that scholarships and financial aid are usually given when a

student can show academic promise as well as financial need.

Almost all of the colleges offer some sort of financial aid. This might take the form of a

scholarship, a job, a loan, or a combination of these. Always check with the college of your

choice for their particular financial assistance. This information is usually listed in the college

catalog.

If you have any further questions concerning financial aid, please consult your counselor.

Local Scholarship booklet will be available on the Watertown High

School webpage Under School Counseling/Post High School Planning
