Many of you have heard about the ongoing development of the Jack Zink High

Adventure Base (ZBASE) at the Zink Ranch. We are now able to offer a full program

of unique outdoor adventures for you to take part. These programs will highlight the

newly developed Adventure Areas, our leadership trek concept, and much more. We

are positive this will peak your taste for adventure!

This adventure packet will act as your compass to help guide you to all the programs

offered in 2019. Planning and preparation are paramount when planning for any

adventure. Many of the programs offered have maximum attendance and registrations

fill up fast, so be sure to sign up early.

Age requirement: minimum of 15 years’ old registered BSA members

Cost: $60

About: This BSA Camping School level training helps train people to

lead and execute fishing programs at the council, district, also this unit

level and is the official certification for Fishing & Fly Fishing Merit Badges. Participants get insight and training how to

deliver top notch fishing programs to Cub Scouts, Scouts, BSA, Venturing Crews, and how to execute fishing programs on

a unit or council level.

Age requirement: Must be a registered BSA members and minimum of

15 years’

Adult Leaders.

Max attendance: 40 total people

Cost: $80

About: Looking to obtain your lifeguard certification? Then look no

further than ZBASE! The course is an intensive 3-day course, which

will take a scout or adult that registers to receiving BSA lifeguard certifications credentials. Once obtained, the

certification will assist the individual in volunteering at the unit level for swim and boating programs, plus can lead to

employment positions at Hale Scout Reservation or ZBASE!

Cost: $85 per person

About: 2019 OA Z Base Trail Crew Project which will take place May 27-

June 1, 2019 and will help to establish the 16 miles “Lake to Lake” Trail at

ZBASE. OAZBTC is sponsored by Ta Tsu Hwa Lodge of Indian Nations

Council in Tulsa OK.

Dates: June 1 - July 6 Times: 7 day high adventure trek

Open to: Scouts/ Venturers 14+ that have formed a ZBASE Crew.

Age requirement: 14+.

Cost: $550 per person

About: Be one of the first to try out ZBASE High Adventure Program!

Crews will embark on a 6-day, 5 night adventure and experience all the

new Adventure Areas then give your feedback to help make ZBASE THE

Open to: Webelos Scouts and Parents/ Guardians

Age requirement: must be a Webelos Scout going into the 4th or 5th

grade in the fall of 2019

Max attendance: 60 people per session.

Cost: $100 per youth & $100 per adult

About: Spend a long weekend poolside! The Webelos Aquatics

Camp is geared towards those Webelos looking for something

different for their summer adventure we have found it! Program geared toward new aquatics adventure loops and fun.

Pack your swim trunks and sunscreen…. you’re going to need them! Minimum leadership requirement is 1 adult for every

5 scouts. Adults will participate alongside their scouts so bring your swim gear as well and get ready to get splashed

alongside your scout and have fun!

About: If you’re a Boy Scout looking to earn some of those hard-to-

obtain Aquatics merit badges such as Swimming and Lifesaving,

then this is your spot! This allows a scout flexibility during summer camp to choose other merit badges while still having

the opportunity to earn these vital (Eagle Required) badges in a focused setting. Scouts must be accompanied by a Unit

Leader.

this is your spot! This allows a scout flexibility during summer

camp to choose other merit badges while still having the opportunity to earn these important watercraft badges in a

focused setting. Scouts must be accompanied by a Unit Leader.

About: A sporting clay challenge for Venture Crews and

take on the all new Jack Graves Sporting Clays Course

meeting the challenge of 60 shots at 15 stations. Venture

Crews and Scout Troops will register as one or more teams of 4-5 shooters. Additional shooters will be assigned with

Cost: $40 per Scout $20 per Adult

About: This is a weekend long event where Scouts can

earn most or all Fishing, Fly Fishing, & Fish and Wildlife

Merit badges (all 3 are earned receive the BSA Complete Angler Award). Get hands on instruction for fly fishing, fly tying,

fishing as well as cleaning and cooking your own fish. Lodging will be inside the Zink Lodge with bunk beds, all meals

and snacks are included for the weekend. Fishing will be from the docks, banks and boats. All fishing gear is provided for

use (you may still bring your own). Scouts must be accompanied by a Unit Leader.
