July11: Sons of Champlin, 8:00pm, Center for the Arts, GrassValley. The Sons of Champlin started as a five piece band in 1965

in Marin County with their namecoming from the front man, BillChamplin. The band grew to sevenmembers who recorded sevenalbums between 1968 and 1977

when the group disbanded. After atwenty year hiatus, in 1997 the Sonsreunited for a series of successful

reunion shows, with two of the ear-liest shows taking place at the leg-endary Fillmore Auditorium whereit all began. This reunion lead tonew albums being released, includ-

ing their first ever live album in January 1998. The Sons ofChamplin have continued to tour as their schedules have per-mitted, mostly on the West Coast and in the Pacific Northwest.The Sons first studio album in 28 years, Hip Lil Dreams wasreleased by Dig Music on August 23, 2005 to great reviews.Tickets are $28.00 General Admission, $45.00 VIP and can be

During the festival, downtown willbe closed to motorized traffic. Sincethe event draws a large crowd, a$5.00 parking and shuttle service(children 12 and under are free) willbe offered connecting the parkinglots at the Nevada CountyGovernment Center on Highway 49to the downtown festival district.Shuttle hours are 5:30 until 9:30pm each Wednesday of theevent.
