Supported Image TypesThefollowingisalistofimagetypessupportedbyImageBrowser.

JPEGMostcamerasusethisimagetype.Itcompressesatveryhighratios,takingadvantageofthecharacteristicsofthehumaneye.However,becauseitisanirreversiblecompressionmethod(partofthedataislostduringcompression),ifyouprocessandsaveanimagerepeatedlyusingthismethod,theimagemaybecomerougher.ExifJPEGisanimagetypethataddsinformationsuchasshootingdatatoaJPEGimage.

RAWThisisaproprietaryimagetypeprovidedbyCanon.Itallowstheoutputoftheimagepixelsfromadigitalcamerawithoutanydeteriorationinthequalityoftheimage.Somecamerasmightnotsupportthisimagetype.

PICTThisisthestandardimagetypeforMacintosh.ThisimagetypeissupportedbymostMacintoshsoftware.
