3. Product DescriptionBasic UsePanda Windows and Doors manufactures high quality, durable and sustainable custom large opening solutions.

The Panda line of Folding Door Systems is designed to optimize space utilization while dramatically expanding spaces to the outdoors where pockets are not possible. They are suitable for every application, giving design freedom that achieves the exact folding opening desired without compromise.

Panda folding door system is custom made with a large variety of options available.

All Aluminum (S.51)

This folding door system can be configured from two to countless panel groups. S.51 doors use an extruded aluminum track to fold smoothly to one side while stylishly and effortlessly connecting spaces to the outdoors or acting as an interior space divider.

All Aluminum ULTRA (US.51)

This folding door system is engineered to suit a wide range of commercial and industrial applications where high strength and maximum access is desired.

The precision hardware used in the US.51 is a leader in the industry and designed to withstand the weight of oversized panels. The stainless steel wheel carriage is capable of supporting up to 450 pounds (204 kg) per set. Its sealed ball-bearing and double-sliding rollers allow effortless operation even on the largest sizes.

Thermally Broken (TS.60)

TS.60 doors are extremely durable and ideal for large openings in extreme climates. These doors feature thermal break technology, which offers superior energy efficiency. Using a polyamide iso-bar, with glass fibers integrated to provide maximum strength, TS.60 door separate its aluminum profile to reduce thermal conductivity and save energy.

Thermally Broken ULTRA (UTS.60)

UTS.60 doors combine superior capacity and thermal break technology to work efficiently in heavy duty applications under extreme weather conditions.

This system uses cutting-edge aluminum extrusions with a polyamide bar to connect the frame together while reducing heat or cold transfer. This protective barrier lowers u-factors, limits condensation, increases energy performance and reduces thermal conductivity.

Aluminum/Wood Clad (S.74)

The S.74 is equipped with aluminum extrusions manufactured from 6063-T5 alloy. Wood cladding is attached with polyamide

clips to create a thermal barrier. This system provides superior capacity, making it an ideal choice for heavy duty applications.

Aluminum/Wood Clad Thermally Broken (TS.75)

The thermal break technology combined with wood interior framing provides additional insulation to this energy efficient system. The aluminum exterior adds an extra layer of protection and guarantees a maintenance-free solution.

Composition & MaterialsPanda’s signature door panels feature narrow 6063-T5 extruded aluminum profiles with mitered corners attached with aluminum corner gussets. It offers: Thermally efficient models that are thermally broken by a 15⁄16 inch (24 mm) polyamide strip Wood cladding that is attached with polyamide clips to

create a thermal barrier and limit heat transfer

Custom FeaturesPinch Free Gaskets Magnet Panel Collector

Glazing Clear, low-e tempered-insulated 1 inch (25 mm) glass is the standard Glazing options between 1⁄4–11⁄4 inch (6–32 mm) thick may be used for improved thermal transmittance, impact resistance, privacy and safety protectionSDLs, TDLs and automated blinds may be integrated

Hardware

Wheel CarriageThe top of each door has its own solid aluminum carriage with four wheels that run inside an adjustable head. The wheels are composed of synthetic nylon covered wheels that spin around on its own set of lubricated and corrosion resistant ball bearings.

This assembly is designed to withstand an ultimate load of 450 pounds (204 kg) per wheel carriage and operate with the slightest push of a finger. The result is a folding door panel system that rolls freely, smoothly and quietly.

Gasketing SystemQuadruple magnetic “Z” EPDM glazing gaskets and dense felt brushes wrap around the entire folding system to create a weather tight closure between sections and pinch resistant panels.

5. InstallationPreparing the Opening1. Verify that site conditions are acceptable for installation.2. With an installer present, examine flooring, structural

support and openings for compliance with installation requirements and other conditions affecting the performance of folding doors.

3. Verify rough opening conditions are within recommended tolerances and exterior opening is properly flashed and waterproofed.

4. Proceed with installation only after unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected.

5. Install folding doors and accessories only after other finishing operations, including painting, are complete.

MethodsThe design drawings must include the opening requirements for the folding door system.

Important: accurate dimensions, including rough opening size, are critical when installing a large opening folding door system.1. Install aluminum-framed glass folding doors in

accordance with manufacturer’s installation guidelines and recommendations.

2. Ensure doors are leveled, plumb, square, true to line, without distortion or impeding thermal movement, anchored securely in place to structural support and in proper relation to wall flashing and other adjacent construction to produce weather tight construction.

3. Install folding doors and components to drain condensation, water penetrating joints and moisture migrating within doors to the exterior.

Protection1. Upon completing the installation, clean the panels to

remove dust, dirt, adhesives and other foreign materials per the manufacturer’s written instructions.

2. Protect aluminum against corrosion or electrolytic action where in contact with dissimilar metals or other materials.

3. Remove and replace glass that has been broken, chipped,
