Focus of the Week Reception September 12 th – 16th Literacy Objectives: To verbalize some of the “safe play” behaviours in and outside the classroom To retell one of the classroom stories/ or part thereof they have heard read To work towards using the correct pencil grip To practise writing own name Maths Objectives: To practise writing numbers 1 – 10 and beyond To count up to 10 (and beyond) matching numbers to a group of objects To recognise basic shapes and their names To create a collage shape picture and talk about the shapes they have used Putonghua: "Schooling" To listen to enjoy the story of Mid Autumn Festival To sing the songs about going to school. To learn basic classroom language in Chinese such as; stand up, sit down, hold hands, line up (routines) Leap Van: Yellow Room visited the Leap Van last Friday. Blue Room will visit this Friday. Students will be learning about the importance of eating a variety of healthy foods every day. Thanking for sending in at least 1 piece of fruit for snack. Please do not send in candy, cake, sweets or chocolate. PE lessons are on Thursday. These will be our PMP (perceptual motor program) Please wear sports shoes on this day. Thank you to the parents for helping out! School photographs for Reception on Thursday and Friday Reminders We wish you all a happy Mid Autumn festival holiday on Tuesday 13th. See you back at school on Wednesday, 14 th September.
