Dear Partners and Friends, 2014 is off to a great start! We are super excited to share some new direction we are receiving. The Lord has impressed our hearts to focus on three things this year, Colombia, Evangelism, and Finances. First of all Colombia It looks like by the end of this year each of our kids will be following their own paths in God. With our nest becoming empty we will have much more flexibility as to where and how we live. We are praying about and considering how to apportion our future time between the field and family in the states. At this time we are exploring the idea of moving our mission base from Chia (Bogota Area) to the Medellin area. These two are indicated by the arrow in the green highlighted portions to the center of the map below. You cannot tell by this map, but theses areas are very mountainous making it a 10 hour drive from one to the other. Our contact in 2007 with this little girl inspired us to start a feeding program in Tolima 5 hours south of Medellin. Jesus saved her life, many other children were fed, families saved, and a new church was born! Secondly Evangelism We believe we are to start evangelizing in the area from Medellin down to Cali. There is a great opportunity to reach multitudes with Jesus Christ. Peace has gradually come to this area the last five years and with the exception of Cali, it is practically unreached. Numerous villages, towns, and small cities are without Christian churches. Medellin, the former home of Pablo Escobar, is Colombia’s second largest city of 2.5 million. Historically hardened to the Gospel and once plagued by severe violence and kidnapping, Medellin and the surrounding region is desperately thirsty for the waters of salvation and positive change. It is an area that is ripe for the Gospel. This month (February) Julie and I will be travelling and ministering in Medellin and in parts of the surrounding area. We need your prayers. We are believing God for salvations, new connections, divine favor, and supernatural wisdom. We need the right door to open for a base here. One thing I have learned in 15 years is that God has times and seasons to reap the spiritual harvest of souls. This Colombian coffee farmer knows you have got to pick the coffee beans when they are ripe red. Not green and not brown.
A population of 17 million lives in this area from Medellin down to Cali. Unlike Bogota and Cali, it is very un-‐evangelized. Many towns, villages, and rural areas have never been penetrated with the Gospel. It is a ripe and ready field. Holy Spirit is filling our hearts with ideas and divine strategies to reap the harvest, plant new churches, and seed the area with missionaries and evangelists.
Colombia is ripe for salvation. Sixty years of violence and civil war have left her hungry for God and desperate for positive Change. Together we can reach her thirsty ones with Jesus and for eternity.
Thirdly Finances This summer will mark 15 years for us in full time missions. Because of awesome friends and faithful partners we have been able to focus our attention and efforts in and on the field. We have been very blessed and itinerated very little in 15 years to raise support. Thanks! Now God is calling us to new and bigger evangelistic endeavors. We sense a divine push to itinerate and a new level of faith for God to bless Soul Harvest Missions with more supporters and friends. We are trusting God to touch many hearts to connect and reconnect with us for this new era of harvest and missions in Colombia. We have been working this past month on and have almost completed a new website so that you can follow the ministry, receive blessing, and give online if you prefer. Also some amazing friends in the Tulsa area are helping us to develop some videos, audios, brochures, and other promotional materials. Our immediate need is to purchase the following equipment to improve our publications, mailings, and communications. If you can help us with a special offering toward this, please know that it will be a tremendous blessing and help. Thanks!
It seems God has released a fresh grace and favor on our lives to itinerate this year. The purpose is to share our hearts and fresh vision to reach the lost in this region of Colombia. Our hope is that those who already know and believe in us will help us make many new friends and connections. Please pray for us and believe God with us to open new doors, grant new friends and partners, and help us to reconnect with others. Julie and I thank you for your generosity toward us and to those we are reaching with Jesus Christ. Through your generosity, you go with us, preach with us, heal with us, and reap souls with us.
