How May I Help My Child? Read different types of books and informational

text with your child Ask your child to find answers to questions in the

text of books, newspaper articles, manuals, etc. Encourage your child to form and defend opinions

by supporting these with facts, details and reasons from text

Discuss mathematics ideas with your child have them explain these to you using pictures, graphs, etc.

The primary content for this course pertains to the principles, functions, and organization of government; the origins of the American political system; the roles, rights, responsibilities of United States citizens; and methods of active participation in our political system.

In spring 2016, A student’s performance on the statewide administered Civics EOC Assessment must constitute 30 percent of the student’s final course grade. Baseline data will be collected to establish a minimum passing score on the Civics EOC Assessment.
