Flea and Tick Control – Spring Special
Spring is around the corner and that means it is time for all of us pet owners to start thinking about the
best flea and tick control plan for our pets. The best way to control fleas and ticks is through oral or spot
on treatments. Spot on treatments are more popular because they are easy to administer, are generally
well tolerated by pets and offer
protection against fleas and ticks for up
to 30 days.
Some of the top spot on products for flea
and tick control are like Frontline Plus,
K9Advantix, Advantage, K9Advantix II and
Advantage II. While they are all good
products, the most effective amongst
them are Frontline Plus, K9Advantix II
and Advantage II as they have an
additional ingredient, an Insect Growth
Regulator (IGR), which stops the
development of a new generation of
fleas.
We recommend that you do your research and consult your vet before selecting a flea and tick control
product for your pet. Our vet has advised us to use Frontline Plus as he feels that this is the most
effective dog flea treatment available today. It is an expensive product, however keep in mind that it is
easier and less expensive to control flea and ticks than to treat a flea and tick infestation. Moreover,
there are several websites as well as pet stores that have regular sales and special offers during which
cheap frontline plus for dogs can be purchased.
Remember, a healthy pet is a happy pet so whatever you do, ensure that your pet is protected from
fleas and ticks this spring!
