Safety is a must in all aeronautical activities especially in Final Assembly Line where many complex operations are performed during
the mounting of a helicopter.
Encourage workers to a positive attitude towards safety and to discourage unsafe behaviour and practices is a best practice.
Train workers on the procedures to be followed in carrying out their activities mostly on the aspects of FOD (Foreign Object Debris)
prevention.
Supports the monitoring of tool events introducing an automatic
IOT based system.
Reporting on tool events tracking improves the efficiency in preparation of tailored training material linked to FOD prevention, as stated by the involved instructors.
CostFOD costs the aviation industry an estimated $4 billion per year, prevention is a top priority. Workers who are properly trained in FOD prevention best practices are an invaluable asset.

The Smart Factory reference architecture
organises the FIWARE assets to support the
development of shopfloor intelligence
enhancing physical processes. FIWARE
enables more efficient, flexible and safe
shopfloor by supporting machine-vs-machine
and human-vs-machine convergence. It
builds on top of FIWARE’s Internet-of-Things
(IoT) Service Enablement Chapter.
FIWARE for Industry Reference Architectures
Digital Factory
The Digital Platform reference architecture
organises the FIWARE assets to support the
development of knowledge-based
manufacturing processes aiming at
improving the time-to product and
time-to-market of products and services,
managing more efficiently the product
life-cycle information from heterogeneous
sources (ERP, social networks, CRM, PLM). It
wires together three GEs from two different
FIWARE Chapters: Apps and Data/Context
Management.
Virtual Factory
The Virtual Platform reference architecture
extends the “classic” supply chain processes
with more advanced features, such as cloud
manufacturing and digital
marketplaces, targeted at distributed
organizations and virtual enterprises. The
Virtual Platform brings the business
ecosystem framework from FIWARE’s Apps
Chapter into the manufacturing domain.
Smart Factory Reference Architecture Instantiation
To develop a tool events monitoring process AW has instantiated the Smart Factory
Reference Architecture.
