Writers’ Group Come to Writers Group, January 17. It will be a meeting not to be missed. Dave Ellingson will be the guest speaker and share insights on writing, living, paddling, publishing and more. Always eager to share his experiences, he’ll answer questions about what motivates him to start a book---and to finish it. He has authored six, the most recent being Paddle Pilgrim: Kayaking the Fjords of Norway. As a special bonus, Dave will bring some of his signed books should you wish to make a purchase. If you are interested in putting words on paper, you’ll be right at home. Join us at 11:30 and bring a sack lunch. Coffee will be available. The meeting begins at 12:00 pm and ends between 2:00 and 2:30.

2019 Daily Texts The 2019 Daily Texts have arrived. Cost: $8.00 Books are in a basket at the hospitality desk. Payment for the book can be turned in to the offering plate or the office’s mail slot using the labeled envelope tucked inside each book.

Charitable Donations to FLRB In this season of giving, please consider including FLRB in your charitable contributions. We are able to live, love, and serve in our community and our world through your generous donations. As a reminder, end of year donations must be received by December 31, 2018 at noon to appear on your 2018 giving statement.

Giving Statements FLRB is moving further into digital communications. If we have your email address on file, you should have received an email recently with a statements of your giving through November 30. Our plan is to send these quarterly to members via email. Otherwise you will get a statement mailed to your home twice a year. Please make sure we have your current contact information. Updates may be sent to [email protected]

Pre-K and Kindergarten Christmas Celebrations The week before Christmas, we had 3 Christmas programs – ending with the Pre-K Lions and Kindergarteners, “The Light of the Whole World”. We had 46 Pre-K children and 16 Kindergarteners who sang their hearts out!!! Thank you to Joel who worked with all the kids on the music and accompanied us, and to the teachers who worked tirelessly on the music and speaking parts! Christmas Blessings from the staff and children!!

Preschool & Kindergarten Registration 2019-2020 Wow! 47 years of Christian outreach to the Shoreline and Edmonds community!!! Registration for the 2019-2020 school year will begin the end of January. If you or someone you know might be interested in enrolling, please come and visit and give them our phone number. We have classes for 2 ½ year olds through Kindergarten, as well as a Parent and Me class on Fridays. The Basics of Christianity Starting Sunday, January 13th, Pastor John will be facilitating a conversation between Sunday morning services on the basics of what it means to be a Christian. Questions to be addressed will be: “Is there more to life than this?” “Who is Jesus?” “How can I have faith?” “Why and How should I pray?” “Why and How should I read the Bible?” “How does God guide today?” “Does God heal today?” and more. This class is for anyone who wants to know the basics of what it means to be a Christian or wants a review. Join us in the Upper Room at 9:45 every Sunday for 13 weeks.
