A WORKSHOP THE ENNEAGRAM: TOOLS AND PRACTICES FOR NURTURING YOUR SPIRIT LIFE September 13/14, 2019 First United Church Sanctuary You’ve learned about the Enneagram and recognize your particular Type patterns. This is the first step in our growth and awareness. The next important step is learning how to relax our Type structure and patterns (reactions) to enable us to live the spirit-filled life most of us yearn for. This workshop will focus on learning tools and practices to help us ‘come home’ to ourselves and our spirit gifts. The leadership team is comprised of Margaret Ault, an Enneagram teacher, supported by Dorothy Naylor. Dates: Friday, September 13 th , 7:00pm – 9:30pm, and Saturday, September 14 th , 9:00am – 1:00 pm. SMALL GROUP: APPLYING THE ENNEAGRAM TO OUR EVERY DAY LIFE This is an opportunity to learn and grow with the intimacy and support of others in a small group setting. Sharing of experiences is such a powerful way to learn and grow. A variety of topics to be explored will be identified by the members of the group. We will learn from each other, however Margaret Ault, an Enneagram Teacher, and Dorothy Naylor will provide support to the group. It will be an opportunity to connect with people across Canada working to accomplish the mission of UNJPPI. Our intention is to pay attention to the June 2017 call of the Palestinian churches to the World Council of Churches to engage in costly solidarity. A leader of the Palestinian Church will speak on “Effective Solidarity is Costly”. We will reflect on what has been accomplished since 2012 and we will ask what is blocking our work. Mother Earth Water Walk 2019 On August 24th, Grandmother Francine Payer began her sacred Mother Earth water walk from Matane QC to Gatineau, QC, about 1200 km of walking in ceremony and prayer for water. In a YouTube video, ( https://youtu.be/ELXR04EaCHg ) she explains more what it is about and tells us how we can support her. This is important sacred work. First has already sold water buttons in support of this water walk and we would encourage anyone who wants to stand in solidarity with indigenous concern for the health of water and to honour anishinabe sacred ceremony to donate in support. Forest Church
Sunday September 22 and 29 at 11:00 a.m.

As part of the New Ways project, we are supporting an experience of church through walking and nature. There will be opportunities to experience this in the mid-week in partnership with Kitchissippi United and Kanata United.
However, First United is hosting two gatherings on Sunday mornings as another way of experience deepening our faith in community. While the regular service will still occur in the sanctuary, there is an opportunity to gather in an alternative way and then join the rest of the community for Conversation and Refreshments.

Art Explorations: Come on Saturday Sept. 28th, 1-3 pm in room 5/6 to play with Paste
Paper. Paste paper is the grown up version of finger painting. You can create decorative
papers that have many uses. This art form is accessible to all. For more information

Book Study Group: Mondays -9:30-11:30 a.m., Room 5/6. Sept. 9th studying 21 Things You
May Not Know about The Indian Act (Helping Canadians Make Reconciliation

independent bookseller Singing Pebble Books on Main St. No previous book study
