ABB’s expertise in oxygen analysis has enabled us to design and manufacture the world’s
leading oxygen probes for combustion control. With designs founded on innovative electrode
technology and the concept of full serviceability on site, our probes are the most reliable,
flexible and cost-effective available.
The more efficient your combustion process, the more profitable youroperation will become. Fuel efficiency also leads to reduced pollution, helping youto comply with environmental legislation now and in the future. This is supported by ABB products that carry MCERTS and TÜV accreditations*.
By measuring the levels of oxygen and other gases present in your flue or furnace, you can ensure that the air:fuel ratio is optimized for maximum fuel efficiency.
Quality and Reliability in Oxygen Analysis
The probes are supported by a full range of complementary
instrumentation to form complete oxygen analysis systems. The systems
can be tailored to a wide variety of applications, to provide results,
information, alarms and options for automatic control of the air:fuel ratio.
Like all ABB instrumentation products, the range is manufactured to the
highest levels of quality – backed by an unrivalled sensing cell warranty of
up to 27 months plus the service and support you expect from ABB.

Customer support and service
SupportIT - A customer care programme that will
give you what you want, when you want it, how you want it.
From installation start-up to planned maintenance and training,
an ABB Customer Support programme puts your needs first -
making your life easier and your instrumentation investment
go even further.
InstallationTo maximize your instrumentation investment skilled and experienced engineers
will ensure that an instrument is correctly installed, commissioned and integrated
into your process.
We can supply, install and commission full turnkey packages, carry out new panel
work or modify existing panels. We can install wiring, facilitate instrument upgrades
and undertake full on-site support and commissioning.
Calibration and surveysFrom the immediate delivery of instruments that work straight from the box to on-site

The ZFG2 measures percentage oxygen in low temperature applications
such as flues and boilers.
Operating at temperatures from 20ºC to 600ºC (68ºF to 1112ºF), it is ideal
for applications such as: boiler plants used in power generation and the
process industry; low temperature incinerators; cement and lime kilns;
blast furnaces; oxygen enrichment; and humidity measurement.
The output from the ZFG2 can be directed to the ZMT or ZDT analyzers for
an oxygen percentage readout.
Available in standard lengths of 400mm (16ins), 1000mm (40ins), 1500mm
(60ins), and 2000mm (80ins), the probe is inserted directly into the flue
duct with no need for a separate sampling system.
The ZFG2 probe is also fully interchangeable with different probes
from ABB or other manufacturers, allowing upgrades to
be made with minimum disruption, and reduced cost.

ZMT Oxygen Analyzer
The ZMT analyzer interprets inputs from either the ZFG2, EXFG, ZGP2 or
EXGP probe, and provides readout of oxygen percentage on an easy-to-read
digital display.
The highly flexible ZMT analyzer can be programmed to meet the
individual needs of your application.
As an example, it can be used to monitor the operation of either single
or dual fuel boilers - using any of up to 17 different fuels allowing
combustion efficiency to be calculated.
The instrument can also accept a remote measurement of CO levels and
automatically calculate CO2 for a given fuel.
Two program security levels protect the ZMT analyzer from any accidental
changes to configuration.
TÜV accreditations with ZFG2 probes.
Auto-calibration of the system is optional.
The ABB 4600 analyzer series sets a new benchmark in affordability and
security for the high temperature market. The series are available in wall
mounted configurations or in panel mounted (1/4DIN) configurations,
making them a flexible, economical solution for high temperature furnaces
and boilers. Combining alarm relays and a 4-20 mA output,
the units represent ABB’s most cost effective solution for oxygen
measurement, with ZGP2 probes.

Oxygen Analysis
The SMA Smart Analyzer 90 provides measurement for oxygen only or for a combination of oxygen and
combustible gases. Its close-coupled extractive design consolidates sensor and electronics instrumentation
into a unified analyzer design, reducing both equipment purchases and maintenance needs.
To minimize difficulties associated with probe plugging in heavy particulate applications, the analyzer is
equipped with a patented hot gas sampling system, incremental filtering capability and an optional
probe blowback feature.
As a standard feature, the SMA Smart Analyzer 90 is approved by FM and CSA for Class 1, Division 2,
Groups B, C and D and for Class 2, Division 2, Groups
E, F and G locations. FM approved protection
is inherently provided against flashback into the duct,
thus eliminating the need for additional hardware in
applications where this feature is necessary.

All ABB Zirconia probes are supplied with a choice
of mountings.
If you have previously used another type of probe,
and want to upgrade to a new ABB probe on the
same mountings, we can provide flanges which are
compatible with those of many different
manufacturers.
However, if there is no existing mounting on the

However, if there is no existing mounting on the
flue boiler, an additional mounting plate can be
specified.
For 400mm (16ins) probes, a mounting plate
adaptor is also available.
