*Call to Worship Dr. Doyle Hamilton

Leader: As the people of God, we acknowledge that we live in a time of brokenness...fractured relationships pervade our lives. Our relationships are splintered with God, each other, and even ourselves.

People: Mend our brokenness, Lord. We need to hear a word from you.

Leader: Jesus reminds us to 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'

People: We proclaim that we love You, O Lord, but we must admit that we don't love You as we should. Forgive us when we fall short of Your glory.

Leader: Jesus also reminds us to 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' We say we love our neighbors, but then, in the same breath, we speak ill of them and mistreat them, and, if we are honest, sometimes we don't even love ourselves very well.

People: Forgive us when we fail you, our neighbors, and ourselves.

Leader: Together, let us renew our commitment to love you and the world, and to work towards wholeness and restoration.

ALL: We, the people of God at First Baptist Roswell commit this day to lift high the cross, to hold Your Christ-light for our neighbors, and to speak and be the peace the world longs to hear. Amen

Choral Anthem(11:00) arr. Berry "The Lord is My Shepherd"

Young Musicians Choir; Sarah Deal, Director

The Lord is my shepherd; He gives me ev’rything I need.He cares for me and guides me, as I follow where He leads.

I know that He is with me, no matter where I go.I will always follow Jesus, because He loves me so.

Morning Worship8:30 AM & 11:00 AM

Nineteenth Sunday After Pentecost

Please silence all electronic devices.

Sometimes the path I walk seems frightening and lonely;I’m fearful of the road that lies ahead.

But the Shepherd says, “I am here. You never need to fear!I am with you forever, forever!”

The Lord is my shepherd, and I will trust in Him always.

He will lead me back onto His path, even when I go astray.Through the valleys or the mountaintops, wherever I may roam,

The Lord is my shepherd, and He will lead me safely home.

Scripture Reading Proverbs 18:24 Amy Hayes

Pew Bible p.643 Large Print p.1011

One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Message "No Turning Back" Dr. Kevin Head Philemon 17-21

17 So if you consider me a partner, welcome him as you would welcome me. 18 If he has done you any wrong or owes you anything, charge it to me. 19 I, Paul, am writing this with my own hand. I will pay it back—not to mention that you owe me your very self. 20 I do wish, brother, that I may have some benefit from you in the Lord; refresh my heart in Christ. 21 Confident of your obedience, I write to you, knowing that you will do even more than I ask.

FlowersThe flowers in the Sanctuary are given to the Glory of God by the Nick Smith Family.

I will weep when you are weeping, when you laugh, I’ll laugh with you;I will share your joy and sorrow, Till we’ve seen this journey through.
