Department Highlights for 2013
Began fire training with SFD at the Skokie Training TowerPlaced three new apparatus in service:
Incident Command Vehicle Ambulance 22 Engine 25
Members obtained Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificationCERT volunteers provided 943 hours of volunteer service:
4th of July celebration Bike the Ridge Blue Light inspections
Community Outreach: Successful first year for our Fire Explorer Program Citizen CPR program instructed 435 residents in CPR and first aid Attended 157 block parties and conducted 52 fire station tours

Looking ahead to 2014
New fire station tone out alerting system will be installed in all facilitiesWe will work with Public Works Fleet Services Dept. to develop a bid specification for a replacement ladder truckCaptains and Shift Chiefs promotional exam process will be conductedMembers will obtain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certificationPremier of our first ever Citizen’s Fire Academy next fall
