The Chess team was started by Eli Dolly

as a graduation project 9 years ago. The

first advisor was Mrs. Ann Showers. Mr.

Dewease took over the Team 5 years ago

and is still currently chess instructor today

for Biglervile chess

The Rook can only

move straight. You can

move it as far as you

want but only in a

straight line

The Knight

can only

move in an L

shape it would

be three

up, down, left

, or right but

one over so it

would be a

four square L.

The Bishop

can only

move

diagonal

only as far

as you want

to move it.

The Queen

is the most

second

important

piece next to

the king it

can move

any where it

wants as far

as it wants.

The King is the

most important

piece you have to

protect your king

or you will lose the

game. The king an

only move one

space at a time

any where it

wants.

The Pawn can

only move one

space at a time

forward.

However when

first starting the

game you can

double jump

with the pawns.

The chess board has 64 squares.

The Biglerville Chess Team has been in

Biglerville for at least 15 years.

The members of the Biglerville Chess

team are:

Benjamin, Isaiah, Eric, Marty, Caleb, Marti

n, and a lot more.

We have played teams from Gettysburg all

the way out Waynesboroh.

The chess team practices every Tuesday

and Thursday night from 2pm to 4pm.

and white.
