Surah Luqman, Verse 17

(Luqman said,) O my children! Establishthe prayer; enjoin what is right; forbid

what is wrong and be patient over whatbefalls you . Indeed, (all) that is of the

Abstract

Everyone must be tested by Allah SWT in theirlife. They will be tested with richness,poorness, sickness, healthiness and so on.Allah wants us to think why we being testedfor that, how to overcome it and what theyllget from Him after the test. In al-Quran, Allah

SWT tells some stories about patience that wehave to learn from it. In the same time, AllahSWT told us to be patient in some verses in al-Quran that we have to research of it.

Importance of Patience

Strengthen the soul of a Muslim, calm andassured by blessing of Allah SWT. Someone who always be patient with some

tests from Allah SWT will able to be patient inother coming tests from Him even the test istoo huge for him/her.

In some cases, by the grace of Allah SWT, Hehelps some that be patient in some tests.

Importance of Patience

Satisfy with Allahs will. It is a characteristic of those who be patient (as-

Sabirun). As he being one of as-Sabirun, he alsowill be those who always willing (Redha) to AllahSWT. In some cases, Allah pays someone patiencewith something that is very good.

Refer back to Surah al-Baqarah, Verse 155. Addition from Verse 156 of the same Surah, [

] (The patiencepersons is they) who when disaster strikes them,they say: Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed,to Him well return.

Importance of Patience

Shows the level of faith of a Mukmin. Allah SWT said, [

] Do the people think that theyll beleft to say we believe and theyll not betried? Surah al -Ankabut, Verse 2.

E.g. Someone being tested by Allah SWT with

the poor life condition. His/her faith (Iman) willbe at high level if he is willing ( Redha ) to AllahSWT. Conversely, His/her faith will be at lowlevel if he/she blames Allah SWT.

Importance of Patience

To overcome tests from Allah SWT. Refer back to Surah Luqman, Verse 17. E.g. Someone being tested by Allah SWT with

the big and important examination in school orin university. Someone just go through of itpatiently. He/she do the best studying,

discussing with the others, always askinglecturers and many more. By his/her patience,he/she success in that examination pass withflying colours.

Conclusion

Patience teach us to strain ourselves fromto be disappointed or angry or too sad forwhat had been happen to us.
