Who was JOB

Job was an upright and righteous man before the Lord

He had seven sons and three daughters

He had 7000 sheep 3000 camels 1000 head of cattle and 500 donkeys

Jobrsquos children used to make feasts and gather all

Satanrsquos Plots against Job

The Lord praised Job for being faithful to Him for all his life

Satan argued that Job was only faithful to the Lord because he was rich

So the Lord allowed Satan to take all of Jobrsquos possessions but not touch his soul

Satan Executes his Plots

One of Jobrsquos servant came and told Job that all his cattle had been taken away and all his sheep and camels have been killed and all his servants that were with them have been killed

Another Servant came and told Job that his house was blown down by wind and his sons and daughters have all been killed

Jobrsquos Patience amp Thankfulness

Job was very saddened with all these news but he didnrsquot lose his faith in the Lord

Job was not a complaining person instead he turned to the Lord

Job said ldquoThe Lord gave and the Lord has taken away blessed be the name of the Lordrdquo (Job 121)

Satan Hurts Job Again

Satan told God that if He

allows him to hurt Jobrsquos body

he will immediately turn

against the Lord

The Lord allowed Satan again

to hurt his body but not to hurt

his life

So Satan made sores (boils)

break out all over Jobrsquos body

Jobrsquos Wife

Jobrsquos wife told him

ldquoCurse God and dierdquo

But he said to her ldquoYou

speak as one of the

foolish women would

speak Shall we receive

good at the hand of God

and shall we not receive

evilrdquo

Jobrsquos Three Friends

Jobrsquos friends went to condole him but instead they told him that he must have done something wrong thatrsquos why God is punishing him

Then they told him that God doesnrsquot care what happens to him so he shouldnrsquot obey God anymore

God Talks to Job

God answered Job and said ldquoWho are you to question my wisdomrdquo

Job said ldquoI am ashamed of all I have said and repent in dust and ashesrdquo Job submitted himself completely to the Lord and acknowledged his sin and weakness

God told Jobrsquos friends to offer seven bulls and seven rams for the Lord and repent so they may be forgiven

Job Prospers Again

The Lord restored Job to his former condition with ever-greater prosperity than before (approximately double of what he had)

He became the father of seven sons and three daughters Job lived 140 years after this long enough to see his grandchildren and great-grandchildren four generations

Conclusion amp Application

Patience does not mean weakness or laziness but it means submission to the Lordrsquos will while we work and struggle

Always pray and say ldquoLord have mercy on usrdquo and thank God for every conditionsrdquo

his life

So Satan made sores (boils)

break out all over Jobrsquos body

Jobrsquos Wife

Jobrsquos wife told him

and shall we not receive

evilrdquo

God answered Job and said ldquoWho are you to question my wisdomrdquo

Job said ldquoI am ashamed of all I have said and repent in dust and ashesrdquo Job submitted himself completely to the Lord and acknowledged his sin and weakness

God told Jobrsquos friends to offer seven bulls and seven rams for the Lord and repent so they may be forgiven
