Carterton Town Football Club (CTFC) 2014 Summer Tournament Girls & Ladies Sat 7 th & Sun 8 th June 2014 A Word from the Club Chairman… May I take this opportunity to welcome you all to Monahan Way and Carterton Town Football Club’s annual football tournaments. With boys, girls and ladies tournaments spread over two weekends, it is a busy time for all involved with the club. With the season drawing to a close, it is time for us all to reflect on what, no doubt, has been a busy, but enjoyable season and time for us all to take a welcome break from the sport we all love, recharge our batteries and look forward to next season. Today, is about meeting friends new and old and more importantly enjoying the day. Yes, we all like to win and collect trophies, but it is the taking part that counts, the players should enjoy these tournaments without the pressures of having to win. Being asked to write this piece for the programme also gives me a great opportunity to thank Gary Oakey and his committee for organising both weekends and also to all the sponsors who have kindly supported these tournaments. Finally, I would like to ask you all to respect our referees today, they have a thankless job, which they do, as we do, for the love of the game and let’s not forget, it is a game of opinions, and unfortunately it is their opinion that counts, not yours! So with that in mind, let’s have football as the overall winner today.

May I take this opportunity to welcome you all to Monahan Way and Carterton Town Football Club’s annual football tournaments. With boys, girls and ladies tournaments spread over two weekends, it is a busy time for all involved with the club.
With the season drawing to a close, it is time for us all to reflect on what, no doubt, has been a busy, but enjoyable season and time for us all to take a welcome break from the sport we all love, recharge our batteries and look forward to next season.
Today, is about meeting friends new and old and more importantly enjoying the day. Yes, we all like to win and collect trophies, but it is the taking part that counts, the players should enjoy these tournaments without the pressures of having to win.
