This programme module aims to equip the Learner with the knowledge and skills required to competently understand, record and produce architectural drawings which communicate spatial design and construction detailing/methodology for our built environment Module objectives

Module Aims This programme module aims to equip the learner with
the knowledge, skill and competence necessary to utilise Computer
Aided Draughting technology as a design and presentation tool.
Module objectives
To facilitate the learner to develop an understanding of technology as a
design tool and the role of the Computer Aided Draughtsperson within the design team.
To assist the learner to apply techniques necessary to create and
modify 2D drawings using a chosen Computer Aided Drawing
software.
To assist the learner to apply techniques necessary to customise
drawings in order to present them appropriately.

Teacher : Class Contact: 2 hours per week
Lesson 1: Personal Computer Environment An introduction and explanation to the PC environment. Enhance students file management skills, opening, saving, closing and deleting files. Manipulating windows and creating folders. Managing external storage devices, USB key, CD-R/RW and Printing.
Lesson 2: Introduction to Adobe Photoshop CS Familiarise students with the Photoshop interface, students practice
opening and closing files. Demonstrate the use of rulers, guides and grids. Explain the role of Palettes in Photoshop, demonstrate how to organise, select, expand and contract palettes.
Tools Palette: Identify and explain role of each icon on the toolbox and role of Options bar in the following sequence
Views: Illustrate the three modes for viewing, students practise.
Zoom Tool: Demonstrate how to utilise this tool, students practise, introduce keyboard shortcuts.

You are required to design a kitchen for a famous T.V chef. The design
should be audience friendly and appealing to the viewer. Take into account
camera space and stage lighting.

entertainment on a regular basis. In the design you are to include a dining
area and a fully operational kitchen with a good work triangle.
