Fencing

Athlete EligibilityAthletes must have signed and submitted the Athlete Eligibility Condition Form.

 

Qualification System

Team CompetitionThere will be a maximum of eight teams per category and gender as follows:

• The top eight highest-ranked NOCs from each team event at the Pan American Championships,

April 15–23, 2015, in Santiago, Chile.

Individual Competition 

There will be a maximum of 18 fencers per category and gender as follows:

• 16 fencers: two fencers from each of the eight countries that qualify.

• The top two highest-ranked fencers per individual events — not from countries qualified in team

events — from the April 2015 Pre Pan Am Selective Competition in Santiago, Chile.

Confirmation of Quota PlacesThe Continental Federation (CF) will confirm to NOCs the places they have qualified, by May 1, 2015.

The NOCs will confirm with the CF the places they will use, by May 15, 2015.

 

Reallocation of Unused Quota PlacesIf necessary, the CF will reallocate unused places in the corresponding events to the next highest-ranked

NOC not yet qualified.

The NOCs that will be granted the reallocated places must confirm their acceptance of these places to

the CF. This process will be completed by May 29, 2015.

TimelineMarch 27, 2015 TO2015 entry by number deadline.

April 15–23, 2015 Pan American Championships (Santiago, Chile).

April 24–25, 2015 Pre Pan Am Selective Competition (Santiago, Chile).

May 1, 2015 CF to confirm to NOCs the places they have qualified.

May 15, 2015 NOCs to confirm to CF the places, they will use.

May 29, 2015 CF to reallocate places, if needed.

June 15, 2015 TO2015 entry by name deadline.
