W hen we think about the sum-mer coming up we begin to

wonder, “What’s it going to be like, temperature wise?” We saw record low temperatures in some parts of the nation while seeing record highs in other parts at the same time. I’m sure some of you, like me, were thinking, “This global warming is about to freeze me to death.” No, I’m not going to get into the science of all that – I’ll leave that to folk who know more than I do about such things. “Where are you going with that, Preacher? Here’s what I do know about the summer coming up. If the Lord tarries His coming, there will be opportunities for us who are His children to minister to people all

around us. There will still be people who need to hear the gos-pel presented in words that are sin-cere and with clarity that will be easily understood.

One of the best ways to share the gospel is actually two-fold: 1) With the Word of God. There is enough gospel in John 3:16 to save the soul of any who will be-lieve. Get into the Word and be ready to share with anyone at any time the opportunity presents itself. 2) With your personal tes-timony. Anyone who has truly met Jesus in a life-changing, salvation experience can share that with oth-

ers. Just tell them what Jesus has done for you, how He changed your life, and that He can and will do the same for them – if they will believe in Him. So, the summer is coming up. Will it be extremely hot? (Hey, we live in Florida; we expect some hot days.) Will it be a mild summer for us? (What is “mild” in Florida?) Will we hear reports of record low temps in some parts of the country while hearing of record highs in other places? We don’t know. We do know that, whatever the temperature, we will have multiple opportunities to minister the good news of Christ to others around us, both in and through Fellowship Baptist and our summer activities and, also, in the paths of life that take us to work, vacation, etc…. Let our prayer be from the heart: “Lord, please make me usea-ble in Your kingdom work.” I be-lieve He hears and answers that prayer. And, let’s not forget the privilege that is ours to meet with our brothers and sisters in Christ in regular Bible study and worship each week. Oh yeah, we do not have to wait for summer for ministry to those who need to know Jesus. But you knew that. See you Sunday for a time of Bible study and worship.

We have such good news—God loved each of us so much that He sent His one and only beloved Son, that if you believe He paid your sin penalty and He came back to life for you, you will not die but have eternal life. That’s good news! Invite your friends and neighbors to join you for our churchwide celebration events!

cross at Bethel MB Church on Martin Luther King Blvd.

Saturday, April 4, from 10:00am-1:00pm.

Celebrate Jesus’ resurrection Easter Day, Sunday, April 5! We’ll begin the celebration with a

sunrise service here at the church at 7:00am. We will then have a

churchwide breakfast together at 8 o’clock.

At 9:30am we’ll break open the Word of God in Sunday School. There’s

a class for everyone! At 10:45 we’ll come together for our

morning worship service which will include the

Easter musical presented by the music ministry of Fellowship.

There will be no other meetings or activities and no evening service.

OK Chorale—Thank you for your continued faithfulness to the OK Chorale rehearsals each month. You definitely make my day when we are together. I do enjoy being with you and working with you. We will rehearse on April 1 and April 15, and sing in the morning worship service April 19. In May, we will rehearse May 6 and May 20, and sing in the morning service on May 24. If there are any who would like to join our group, PLEASE come and check us out. You do not have to be able to sing. Let me work on that. Just come and enjoy being together with each other. I know the Chorale challenges me each time we meet. I look forward to seeing each of you in choir. Worship Choir—I know when you read this, the Easter music will be over. I know you have put in a lot of hard work in preparing for that great event. Easter is always a special time for believers – in fact, each Sunday should be an Easter celebration for us. We have a lot of work ahead of us this summer, so please be faithful in your attendance in choir. We definitely need each of you to make the summer successful. I know there are vacations and times to be out, but when you are in town, please come to choir. We do need you each week. And invite someone new to come with you! . Senior Adults—Pigeon Forge, Tennessee – October 19-23 – I know it is hard to think about the fall when we are still in Spring time. I know the weather seems more like summer except for the brief chill lately. But now is the time to get ready for Pigeon Forge. We will have prices shortly. So be ready! If you have never been with us, you are missing a treat. We would love to have any-one who would like to go to join us. Don’t forget 50+ each month. I know there are some more people that could come and be with us the third Fri-day of each month and fellowship with us – so come on and join us. They were able to help with physical needs while showing hurting children the deep and life-changing love of Christ. This was possible because of you. It was possible because of the local churches who came beside them to stand in the gap for children in need. In 2015, they are tirelessly and boldly continuing their pursuit to help one more child.

dents in going to New Orleans for the mission trip. I be-

lieve our students had an eye-opening experience that will help them. Sunday,

March 29, we will be reporting to the church about our mission trip, and we

look forward to telling you what God did in the lives of our students.

Also, I would like to let the church know that we have begun an af-

terschool program for the students in the youth room on Wednesdays from

4:00-6:00pm. This event offers a safe place for students to study, play games,

and just relax. This event leads straight into our Wednesday night youth

group program. We are inviting all students grades 6th-12th to attend. Also,

we could use more adult volunteers to show the love of Jesus to some stu-

dents. If you have any questions or would like more information, please con-

tact the office.

The Ironworkers meeting in March was a great time—great oysters, great mullet, great trout and a very interesting speaker. Mike Heller with the Man in the Mirror Ministry spoke to the need to challenge and encourage the young men to God’s definition of man-hood. Connect regularly with other men through Iron-workers, Fellowship’s monthly men’s group. They usually meet on the third Monday night of each month for dinner and fellowship. Cost is $3 for church members; free for guests and visitors. They also have work days which are scheduled far enough ahead so you can get them on your calendar. Plan to join them on Monday, April 20, and May 18, at 7:00pm in the Fellowship Hall. There will be a workday at the church on April 25, too. Next Kick the Can/ Breakfast Bash

Saturday, June 6 Collect, save, and bring your aluminum cans (drink and cat food) and disposable aluminum baking pans to the next Kick the Can Drive on Saturday, June 6, 9:00am-10:30am. Gather aluminum anywhere—your office, rela-tives. It’s good for the environment and it’s a help to us! The sooner we get the current debt paid off the sooner we can start on a new Fellowship Hall. Over the past 4-5 years, the aluminum collections have contributed over $5,000 toward our debt reduction and reduces the prin-cipal on the loan.

After dropping off your aluminum, join us for a wonderful continental breakfast! For a donation in any amount, you can enjoy grits, sausage, biscuits, various pastries, fruit, coffee, and juice—and it’s all-you-can-eat! What a bargain—breakfast and sweet fellowship!

en’s Conference is fast approaching—April 24-25, at Thomasville Road Baptist Church. Thirty-one ladies from Fellowship have purchased tickets/armbands to attend this inspiring conference. The armbands will be passed out to these attendees on April 12 and April 19. Terri Fleming will have the armbands and a list of those attending, so please see her or contact her to re-ceive yours. You MUST wear the armband to both ses-sions in order to enter the venue. The replacement cost for lost armbands is $10, so it is important to keep up with it.

National Day of Prayer May 7 The theme for 2015 is Lord, Hear Our Cry, em-phasizing the need for individuals, corporately and indi-vidually, to place their faith in the unfailing character of their Creator who is sovereign over all governments, authorities and men. Money Matters

Max Lucado writes in Max on Life about God’s No-Tolerance Policy and our living out our faith. “Give financial gifts in secret. We like to be seen earning money. And we like to be seen giving it. Matthew 6:3 says, ‘So when you give to someone in need, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.’ ” At FBC, your giving to God’s Work is between you and God. No one knows what you give. We track it as a convenience to you. God knows if you are giving bibli-cally (tithing). Failure to tithe is not a financial problem; it is a spiritual problem. God can grow you to that point if you are open to His leadership. Let’s pray for growth in every area of our lives. “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for your-selves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Mat-thew 6:19-21 Renovation Funding Update: At the end of Febru-ary, our debt was $54,795.57. Remember, all Building Fund/Renovation gifts go to reduce the principal on the loan. Please give above and beyond your regular Tithes & Offerings to help eliminate the debt.

Women on Mission literature has a particular subject matter that they emphasize in each monthly magazine over the course of a year. The past year has been on dealing with PTSD (post-traumatic stress dis-order) in the church and missions. Many people think this disorder relates only to military personnel or people who have experienced war. These articles have shown how our own mission-aries suffer it through traumatic events or the constant

element of fear in the country they are serving. Just like those in war, many do not realize the effect until they return home or are out of the situation. Also, 8 percent of church members may have PTSD through traumatic childhood, employment

in the medical field or law enforcement, or having been a victim of crime. PTSD manifests itself through anger, person-ality changes, physical disorders, alcoholism and de-pression. This affects them spiritually as well through doubting God, questioning their beliefs, insecurity and loss of their commitment to ministry. Symptoms per-sisting for greater than a month are necessary to con-firm a diagnosis of PTSD. Milder symptoms may re-solve within a year but many require counseling, med-ication or long-term therapy. Spiritually, our missionaries as well as fellow Christians struggling with PTSD need our prayers, support, non-judgmental attitude and time to heal from this very real mental entrapment.

From the Florida Baptist Association Director of Missions…. The report is in: Cooperative Program Giving hits 15-year low, but NOT in the FBA! Our association once

again bucked the trend of our state and increased giving to the Cooperative Program by 4% in 2014 (over 2013). Of our 59 churches and missions, 23 increased giving to the CP (some very significantly) and another 15 had giving to the CP remain virtually constant. That means 64% of our churches increased or maintained their giving level this past year, at a time when many churches have experienced a decline. Congratulations and thank you, Florida Baptist Association churches, for your faithfulness to missions giving through our Cooperative Program! (Reminder: Fel-lowship gives 10% to the Cooperative Program.)

Summer Mission Opportunity for Two Fellowship Youth

Two of our Fellowship youth, Logan

McLanahan and Baylee Smith, will serve at Global Youth Ministry this summer. This will be Logan’s third summer and Baylee’s first summer at Global. This summer Logan will be in a position where every week she gets to show God’s love to a new group of campers. She will lead them in group lessons and be in charge of helping lead kids to Jesus. Baylee will be doing behind the scenes work. She will be cooking, cleaning, and making sure the camp runs smoothly. Logan and Baylee are responsible for their room and board at Global. The Mission Committee is very proud of their commitment and willingness to serve and represent Fellowship. If you would like to assist in the financial needs of the girls, please give any gifts to Fellowship and designate them for “Mission Trust.” Thank you for your support. Please pray for them and for all of the campers they will come in contact with this summer.

er. He is in the Wood Leaf Assisted Living, happy making

new friends and telling his funny stories.

When we were utterly helpless with no way of escape, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners who had no use for Him.

God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since, when we were His enemies, we were brought back to God by the death of His Son,

what blessings He must have for us now that we are His friends, and He is living within us! Romans 5:6-10
