COMMUNITY DIRECTORY NOW AVAILABLE Federation Council has launched a handy tool on its new website, with a community directory now available for sporting clubs, community groups and organisations to list their information for free. The directory is an online database that residents can use to search for information about groups operating in the Federation Council area. The directory will include a number of different categories, making finding information a simple and straight forward process. Administrator, Mike Eden said Council was pleased to provide the opportunity for not-for-profit groups and organisations to create a dedicated listing on Council’s website, which they can easily update at any time and at no cost. “The website attracts a large number of people who are looking for information about the communities within the Federation Council area, including how to connect with a range of different groups and clubs,” he said. “This is a great opportunity for all community groups to promote themselves to the broader community and ensure their contact details can be easily found and updated if required.” The directory is user friendly and allows groups to create a username and password so they can manage their own listing. Each listing can include information such as the groups name, description, contact details and images. “We are encouraging all community groups and organisations to go to the website and create their directory listing, so that this becomes a really useful tool for people within the community looking for local information,” Mr Eden said. A fact sheet has been developed to help guide groups through the process of creating and updating a listing on the website. Residents are being encouraged to visit the community directory on Council’s website for further information and to create their online listing today.
