1 Select the Tools menu2 Select Macro3 Select Security4 Under the Security Level tab select either medium or low5 Close Excel and reopen this excel file
General UsageThis sheet has been designed to aid in the transformation of laboratory data into the FDOT xml schema.Various worksheets have been developed in an attempt to logically divide the available laboratory data.
Cells with a yellow background are required Cells with a white background are used to enter dataCells with a light blue background and derived from other parts of the spreadsheet. They may be stored in the XML schema.
The Spin Control is used to rotate the visible data. Multiple sets of data may be entered into this spreadsheet at one time.
The Delete Record button removes the data locally from this spreadsheet. It does not delete the data that is uploadedinto the database.
The SI Units check box changes the data type that is saved into the XML file. Changing it will change the units displayed onthis spread sheet. It will not convert data from one set of units to the other.
Step by Step Example1 Select the general worksheet. Enter the Project Information.2 Select the worksheet corresponding to your laboratory data.3 Select the type of units for the data (SI or English). This is done with the SI Units Check box.4 Fill out the yellow cells with the required information.5 Fill out the white cells with available information.6 If you have more results to enter, use the spin control to rotate the data.7 Select the general worksheet. Upload or Save your XML laboratory data.
Downloading and Opening XMLWhen you download or open an XML file it will add to any data existing within this spreadsheet. As such, you should not add any data that is already present within this sheet. Use the Clear All button in the general sheet to erase all currentdata.
Notes on Specific SheetsRock
This sheet serves as a general summary of rock laboratory test results. The core run and sample columns are yellow. Each row containing rock data must have its respective core run and sample columns filled out.
SoilThis sheet is a summary of soil laboratory data. The sample column must be filled out for each data row.
SieveSoil classification requires a PL, a LL, and data for US Sieve 10, 40, and 200.

TriaxialThe import Triaxial data button imports ASCII data that may be saved by another laboratory device. It requires 4 steps.
1 Press the Import Triaxial Data button, select the ASCII file containing the strain and deviator stress data2 Use the spin control to select the test number corresponding to the imported data3 Use the other spin controls to select the strain and deviator stress columns4 Click the Import Triax button to copy the data into the correct columns on the Triaxial sheet
A macro has been created that resizes the Mohr circle plots when the plot is clicked. This macro attempts to alter the scale inorder to create a plot in which the Mohr circles look like circles.
