Fasting Isn’t EasyBy Tooba Masude

It was a dark and scary night. Everything was quiet, except for the wolves’ howls. On T.V. Tooba and her best friends Swaleha, Zaynab and Hafsa were watching their favorite show, ‘Invasion of the Wolves’. Even though it was a nice and sunny day and the 4 friends were all fasting, all they wanted to do was sit inside and watch T.V. But from the top floor, Tooba’s evil older sister Asma could here the girls’ screams at the carnivorous wolves eating the reporter’s hand. So she came up with a plan. 5 minutes later, she was walking into the T.V room with 4 jumbo bowls of popcorn. “I got you guys a snack” said Asma. “But we can’t eat popcorn. We’re fasting.” Said Tooba “Oh.” Said asma. “Sorry. I guess I can have all of this popcorn to myself!” she said.“Wait!” said Tooba. “I guess it wouldn’t hurt to try just a little.” So asma passed out the 4 bowls and watched as the 4 friends slowly put 1 piece of popcorn in their mouths. 5 seconds after they ate that 1 piece all 4 bowls were empty. “Ok. Now that I did something for you, you have to do something for me.” Said asma“Ok. What do you want.” Said Swaleha.“I want you to shut that stupid, cheesy baby show that you were watching and go outside and do something cool with your lives. To me they look really dull. I mean like, who watches ‘Invasion of the Wolves anymore. It’s such a babyish show!”“Actually, everyone watches it. Look at your phone. Your friend Shanzey just texted you that it’s the new cool thing to watch.” Said Tooba. “Oh.” Said asma. Her cheeks were turning red. “Why don’t you just go outside and play.?"Tooba and her friends agreed and went outside and started playing. But 3 minutes later, asma heard a sound that sounded like crazy wolves! Asma was so annoyed, she got out her water dolphin gun and went down the stairs. Asma crawled through the window and landed in the bushes. 5,4,3,2,1! Water was going everywhere! “Knock that off!” Shouted Hafsa.From the Kitchen, Mrs. Masood could hear all of the commotion, so she walked to the door and opened it. As soon as the door opened, she was sprayed in the face with a big splash of cold water. What in the world is going on here!?” asked Mrs. Masood. “Asma! What are you doing with

that water dolphin gun!? Are you spraying Tooba and her friends in the mouth with the water!? Asma, you know the girls are, well were fasting!” Shouted Mrs. Masood .“well, I thought that if I made them eat something, the would make them calm down a little.” Said asma in a small voice. “well that is crazy! Asma, to your room. Now! You and I will have a little talk about this when your father comes home. Tooba, go do whatever you want with your friends. Iftar will be ready in an hour.Everyone did what they were told. A couple hours later, Tooba’s friends went home and the family was sitting around the dinner table discussing this serious matter. “asma! I can’t believe you would do such a thing.” Said Mr. Masood “I told you! When you don’t fast, never try to offer the fasters food that you know they can’t eat!” “but daaadd!!! I didn’t know that they were fasting!!!!!” whined asma
