Row 1: Now working in rows, at narrow end of Shoe, mark first of center 5 sc; at marker, work-ing in back lps, join midnight marl with sl st in first lp, sc in same lp, sc in each of next 4 sts, turn. (5 sc)

Rows 2–5: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Row 6: Ch 1, working in back lps only, sc in each st across. Leaving 12-inch length, fasten off.

Sew row ends of Instep rows to the sc on either Side of Shoe.

Working on rnd 2 of Shoe Sides with tapestry needle and taupe, whipstitch around in unused lps. Cut 6-inch length of taupe, thread through a st on front of Shoe and tie in a bow. To pre-vent yarn from unraveling, tie each end of yarn in a knot.

Sock

Rnd 1: With size F hook, join loden with sl st in first un-worked lp of row 6 of Instep, ch 1, sc in each of next 5 sts,

working in back lps of rnd 3, sc in each sc around. (24 sc)

EAR

Make 2.Row 1: With size F hook and oyster, ch 2, 4 sc in 2nd ch from hook, turn. (4 sc)

Row 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each of next 4 sc, leaving 6-inch length, fasten off. (8 sc)

Referring to photo, position Ears so that tops are on same rnd as where Eyes will be, and each Ear is about 6 sc apart from Eye position.

HAIR

Wind cocoa yarn around 2-inch-wide piece of cardboard, cut yarn at 1 end. With size F hook, with front of doll facing, beg fringing in 6th rnd from top of Head and fringe around each sc, fringe Head around to nape of neck.

Fold strand of yarn in half, in-sert hook, place fold over hook, draw through st to form a lp on hook, draw cut end through lp on hook, pull gently to secure.

FACIAL FEATURES

EYES

Rnd 1: With size 3 steel hook and black crochet cotton, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, join (see Pattern Notes) in first sc. Leav-ing a length of black, fasten off.

Sew Eyes in 5th rnd down from hairline, sewing about 3 sc apart.

EYEBROwS

With black and tapestry needle, embroider a straight st at a slight angle above each Eye.

MOUTH

With red embroidery floss, em-broider a curved line for Mouth in 4th rnd down from Eyes.

BACK OPENING TRIM

Make 2.Row 1: With size D hook, join camel at back opening, ch 3, dc evenly sp down back open-ing, turn.

Row 2: Ch 3, dc in each dc across. Fasten off.

Sew hook-and-loop tape to back opening of Sweater.

OVERALLS

BIB

Row 1: With size F hook and midnight marl, beg at bottom of Bib, leaving 10-inch length at beg, ch 10, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each rem ch across, turn. (9 sc)

Rows 2–7: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn. At the end of row 7, fasten off.

wAISTBAND

Row 1: With size F hook and midnight marl, ch 4, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each rem ch across, turn. (3 sc)

Rows 2–62: Ch 1, working in back lps, sc in each st across, turn.

Rnd 1: Now working in rnds, at the end of row 62, ch 1, sc in each row end along to first row, do not fasten off.With rem beg length from row 1, sew row 1 to row 62 of Waist-band. Sewn seam is center back of Overalls.

First Leg

Rnd 13: Ch 1, sc in same sc as beg ch-1, sc in each of next 30 sc, ch 3, sl st in first sc, turn. (31 sc)

Rnd 14: Ch 1, sc in each ch and each sc around, join in beg sc, turn. (34 sc)

Rnds 15–35: Rep rnd 2. At the end of rnd 35, fasten off.

2nd Leg

FRONT POCKET

Make 2.Row 1: With F hook and mid-night marl, ch 10, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each rem ch across, turn. (9 sc)

Rows 2–7: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn. At the end of row 7, leaving 10-inch length, fasten off.

On front of Overalls, position each Pocket at an angle on each side on the 4th row down from the Waistband and sew in place.

BACK POCKET

Make 2. Row 1: With F hook and midnight marl, ch 7, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each rem ch across, turn. (6 sc)

Rows 2–5: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn. At the end of row 5, leaving 10-inch length, fasten off.

On back of Overalls, position top of each Pocket about 5 sc apart on the 5th row down from the Waistband and sew in place.

STRAP

Make 2.Row 1: With F hook and mid-night marl, leaving a length at beg, ch 3, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, turn. (2 sc)

Rows 2–35: Ch 1, sc in each of next 2 sc, turn. At the end of row 35, fasten off.

Using tapestry needle and length of yarn, sew row 1 of each Strap evenly sp apart to back of Waistband.

BUTTON

Make 2. Rnd 1: With size 6 hook and white, ch 3, 12 dc in 3rd ch from hook, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-3. Fasten off.

Sew a Button to each end of Strap. Measure and mark the place where Straps cross over at back. Sew hook-and-loop tape on outside of Bib and underside of Straps.

Lightly brush cheeks with blush. Cw
