LIVE THEATRE WORKSHOP 2021-22 FALL/WINTER SEASONLive Theatre Workshop is delighted to be back and creating outstanding theatre performances and education at our brand-new theatre campus at 3322 E. Fort Lowell Road. Our new location has two accessible and comfortable theatres, plenty of parking, a large courtyard, and 5 bathrooms! We are so excited to share this space with you this coming year as we enjoy three outstanding Mainstage shows, three original Children’s musicals, and two cutting edge late night performances. This season we are splitting our year in two with this Fall/Winter Season and an upcoming Spring/Summer season which will be announced later this year.

We are so grateful for all the kind words and support that kept us going strong for the past year and a half, and now we are more than ready to celebrate a return to performances filled with laughs, talented artists, and thoughtful conversations to bring us all together and enjoy the magic of live theatre.

Live Theatre Workshop's Spring and Summer season will be available in early 2022.

In 1988, Neil Simon needed to cheer himself up. The solution was a farce in two acts, set in Palisades, that shows a dinner party gone topsy-turvy. An enjoyable romp that has been staged countless times all over the country, this is one of Simon's most celebrated comedies. But it carries a subtle undercurrent of sadness, which becomes more clear when we set it alongside the events of the playwright's life.At a large, tastefully-appointed Sneden's Landing townhouse, the Deputy Mayor of New York has just shot himself. Though only a flesh wound, four couples are about to experience a severe attack of Farce. Gathering for their tenth wedding anniversary, the host lies bleeding in the other room, and his wife is nowhere in sight. His lawyer, Ken, and wife, Chris, must get "the story" straight before the other guests arrive. As the confusions and mis-communications mount, the evening spins off into classic farcical hilarity.

When Marshal of the Nobility Pozdnyshev suspects his wife of having an affair with her music partner, his jealousy consumes him and drives him to murder. 

Controversial upon publication in 1890, The Kreutzer Sonata illuminates Tolstoy’s then-feverish Christian ideals, his conflicts with lust and the hypocrisies of 

nineteenth-century marriage, and his thinking on the role of art and music in society.

Oso Fuerte has the strength to move rivers and mountains, but when he must decide between living in the world of shadows or the world of light, his strength may not be enough. The audience is invited to join Oso on an adventure as he struggles with La Bruja Quemada and finds silly new friends who teach him that strength of heart is the most powerful of all.

Live Theatre Workshop's traditional holiday production is back and it's bigger and better than ever. The Christmas 

Cheer Squad is preparing for the Christmas Extravaganza, which helps to raise all the Christmas Cheer. But after most of the Cheer Squad gets sick from drinking bad egg nog, it is up to Snowflake, head of the cheer squad to get the band of 

misfit reindeer and elves to form the Cheer Squad before the Christmas Extravaganza begins. It's especially important this year because the Cheer Squad will be performing for famed Broadway producer J.P. Coalson. What they don't know is 

that J.P. Coalson is actually the head of the coal industry and would like nothing more than to have every child get coal in 

their stockings.  Will the Cheer Squad be able to get ready for the Cheer Extravaganza? Will they be able to stop J.P. 

Coalson and his evil schemes? Come join in the fun and pandemonium while singing some of your favorite Christmas 

tunes and getting a visit from the big guy himself.

Jamie is back home from college and only wants to do one thing - take a hike with her little brother Dylan. Together they go on a seemingly normal hike that leads them to embark on a journey through the Sonoran Desert in ways that they have never experienced before. Along the way they meet an unlikely friend group of a packrat, diamondback rattlesnake, and roadrunner that try to help them find their way back home. On their journey to find a way back to their moms, Dylan and Jamie strengthen their bond as siblings and begin to understand what it truly means to call a place home.

Silva leads a support group for those tormented by these questions. Come listen to members of Hauntings Anonymous share their truths on the 

unfathomable, the uncomfortable, and the uncanny. Featuring stories from members of the Tucson community, this will be the first staging of this original 

one-act, lovingly written and performed by local artists.

Fourteen-year-old queer boy Chrysanthemum is the endearing know-it-all serving as president of the Drama Club Council and is based on no playwright in particular. His best friend is Vice President Phylicia, a coloratura soprano in every way. (If you’ve ever done musical theatre, you know what I'm talking about!!) They are best best friends, okay? They comment on each other’s posts out of desire, not obligation. But when FJHS announces the spring musical will be Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma!, our protagonists rift. Shoot! Now one of them is the antagonist. But which one?!
