e Parkis a paradise of more than 20,000 acres, sprawledacross the eastern top of the rugged CumberlandPlateau, one of the most scenic and spectacular out-door recreation areas in America. Laced with cas-cades, gorges, waterfalls, streams, and lush stands of virgin hardwood timber, the park beckons those whoenjoy nature at her finest. While Fall Creek Falls, at 256 feet, is the highest waterfall in the eastern UnitedStates, other waterfalls in the park are Piney andCane Creek Falls and Cane Creek Cascades.

With its many amenities and panoramic natural setting,it is little wonder that Southern Living magazine read-

ers voted Fall Creek Falls the best state park in theSoutheastern United States.

Inn and Conference Cent 

er The Fall Creek Falls Inn is situated on scenic FallCreek Lake and has 145 guestrooms with lake views. All rooms have full baths, cable TV, hairdryers andcoffeemakers. The Inn also features an outdoor,heated swimming pool, fitness room, and game roomfor guest use. Guests may reserve up to 2 years inadvance by calling (800) 250-8610.

CabinsThe Park features 20 two-bedroom, one-bath cabinsand 10 three-bedroom, two bath villas, each furnishedto sleep up to eight or ten people. All cabins and vil-

las are fully equipped for housekeeping with linens,cooking and serving utensils, appliances, microwave,telephone, and cable TV. Cabins and villas have aminimum two-night stay requirement, except during the summer when they are rented weekly.

Restaurant Fall Creek Falls Restaurant seats 220 and serves south-ern style buffet cuisine daily. Box lunches and catering are available for breaks, banquets, or cookouts through-out the park.

Meeting RoomsFall Creek Falls Inn & Conference Center offers over 5000 square feet of meeting/banquet space in five con-ference rooms, which will accommodate up to 400 peo-ple. The Cascade Room opens onto a large patio and isperfect for receptions, cookouts, and parties.

Camping The park has 228 campsites in thr 

ee different areas. Allsites have tables, grills, water, and electricity and areserved by six bathhouses. Fiftynine sites have sewer con-nections. Reservations are taken May through October,six months in advance. There is a two night minimum stay,a two week maximum stay and a nonrefundable reserva-tion fee is required. Ice and firewood may be purchased  year-round. Nine primitive walk-in sites and 3 primitivecamping areas on the overnight trails are also available.Call (800) 250-8611 for camping reservations.

Group CampThere are two group camps that accommodate 100 and150 campers. Camp 1 has 19 rustic cabins with three bath-houses and Camp 2 has 24 cabins with three bathhouses.Both camps have fully equipped kitchen/dining halls and

are available for rent April 15-October 15.Group LodgeTwo lodges are also available for rent. Group Lodge 1sleeps 100 people with two dormitories and four staff rooms. It offers a large dining room with fireplace andmeeting room. Lodge 2 accommodates 32 people andconsists of two buildings, each sleeping 16 people. Bothlodges offer a fully equipped kitchen.

roundsThe park has five covered picnic pavilions, each of whichwill accommodate up to 75 people. There are 12 picnicareas, most handicapped accessible, throughout thepark. There are also a large number of individual tablesand most sites have charcoal grills. There are four play- grounds located in the park.

Boat 

in g Fishing boat rental is available year round. No gasolinemotors or private boats are allowed on the lake.Paddleboats and canoes are available April throughOctober.

Bike TrailsThree miles of paved bike trails and 15 miles of moderate-ly difficult mountain bike trails are offered. Rental bikesare offered seasonally by a leased operation.

ishing  A Tennessee license and park permit are required to fishin the 345-acre Fall Creek Falls Lake. Fall Creek Falls isthe home of two state record catches. Channel Catfishand Bream. The lake also offers largemouth bass. Fishing in the creeks is also allowed.

Hiking There are over 34 miles of hiking trails around the park.Hikers can opt for short or long walks around the lakeand to and from the base of Fall Creek Falls. There aretwo long distance overnight trails for the more adven-turesome.Na t 

ure Center Fall Creek Falls boasts an outstanding nature center withmany attractive interpretive displays. Naturalists present daily programs during the summer and by arrangement at other times of the year. These may include nature demon-strations, art and crafts, movies, campfires, organized games and live musical entertainment.

Swimming The park offers an Olympic-sized pool with a wading pool which is open Memorial Day to Labor Day. The Poolmay be closed weekdays near the end of summer whenlifeguards are unavailable.

Horse StablesThe stables offer guided trail rides April throughOctober by a privately leased operation.
