The San Carlos Recreation Department combines Recreation Fun with Learning Fun togive your child a well-rounded social experience in a small group setting. Ouroutstanding staff of caring, dedicated, enthusiastic professionals provides a warmenvironment in which to play, grow and learn. The program is designed to encourageexploration and creativity in a fun, stimulating atmosphere through art, music, socialplay, crafts, storytelling, movement, outdoor play, special events and holiday programs.Payments are due quarterly or in three installments per session. EVERYONE PLAYS! Recreation Basketball is a fun,low-pressure way to learn and enjoy the game ofbasketball. Equal playing time for all! Youth Advisory CouncilWhat is the YAC?

The Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is an all volunteer advisory

council to the San Carlos City Council comprised of Middle

School and High School Teens.

What types of projects do they do?

The YAC strengthens the image of community for our

young people in San Carlos. We promote health and

wellness in conducting workshops on teen issues and

advise the City Council on youth related programs. We

foster human development by offering activities and

events suggested by youth, for youth. The YAC does

volunteer work throughout the community. The YAC

helped fundraise and build the San Carlos Youth Center

and continue to recommend ideas for ongoing programs

and operations.

Meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each

month, 7:00-8:30pm at the San Carlos Youth Center,

1001 Chestnut Street, San Carlos.

Senior Exercise: Sit & Be FitSenior exercise is an important part of the health and wellness ofseniors. It helps increase your metabolism, energy levels andalertness. Research shows that those suffering from chronic illnessbenefit from exercise even if it is done while sitting in a chair. Chairexercises are great for older adults, those with disabilities, poorbalance or anyone who has trouble standing or getting on the floorto do exercises. They are always gentle on the body and generallysafe for most people to do. It is always a good idea to talk to yourdoctor before beginning a new exercise program, but you are notlikely to injure yourself doing any of these exercises. Bring a 5 lb.dumbbell weight with you to the first class. Be sure to wear looseclothing and comfortable, supportive shoes.Location: ACC, Park ViewDay: Monday/Wednesday/Friday – OngoingTime: 9:15-10:15am – Suggested Donation $1 per class

Café Parkview Lunch ProgramCafé Parkview is a great placeto bring your friends andfamily. We invite you to joinus every Monday for anutritious noon time meal.Our meals are prepared onsite by Steve Gurka, Chef,and we offer a hot entrée aswell as soup and sandwiches.You can pick up our monthlyMonday menu at the ACC orcall us at (650) 802-4384 to hear the menu of the day.

Lunch is served every Monday at 11:15am until 12:30pm. No reservations arerequired for the Monday lunch. Pick up an order form, mark your luncheonchoices and take your completed form to the cashier. Your server will bring yourlunch to your table. No more waiting in line! Plan to stay after lunch and playBingo which starts at 1:00pm. You will have plenty of fun and excitement playingthe game. It gives you a chance to socialize with others and have a great time.

The ACC also offers a sit down luncheon with entertainment on the secondFriday of every month. Tickets for the Friday lunch must be purchased in advanceat the ACC Front Desk. We also serve “Breakfast Special” on the 4th Friday ofthe month. Advance ticket purchase is required.
