On behalf of the Omega Psi Chapter of Alpha

Kappa Psi, I would like to thank you for your

interest in supporting our chapter at Carnegie

Mellon University.

As America’s largest and oldest business

fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi has long been

recognized as the premier developer of principled

business leaders. Our rich tradition of success is

evidenced by our well-known alumni, including

former Presidents Richard Nixon and Ronald

Reagan, Forbes Magazine Editor-in-Chief

Malcolm Forbes Jr., and Wal-Mart founder Sam

Walton among many other notable names.

At Carnegie Mellon University, the Omega Psi

chapter has established itself as a leading student

organization, consistently attracting the best and

brightest minds on campus. Our chapter is proud

to call some of the most accomplished leaders on

campus its own, including presidents of business

clubs and honor societies, chairs of major

campus-wide events, and organizers of important

professional and service initiatives. When our

brothers graduate, they join a worldwide alumni

network boasting over a century of history and

200,000 members. Our graduates can be found

working at some of the most prestigious business

and technology companies in the world.

I invite you to see for yourself why supporting

Alpha Kappa Psi would be a rewarding experience

for you. We offer several different levels of

sponsorship so that we can best suit your needs.

As a sponsor, our executive board would work

closely with you to sponsor professional events,

workshops, and other initiatives that would help

you promote your business. Due to our extensive

influence within many of the university’s most

recognized organizations, we offer an unparalleled

ability to reach out to the Carnegie Mellon

community.

If you have any questions, comments, or

concerns, please feel free to contact me through

email at [email protected] or through

my phone number at (609) 933-2312.

Sincerely,

Hayden Tang, President of the Omega Psi Chapter

BRAIN TEASER COMPETITION

1000+ SERVICE EVENT1000+ is a Pittsburgh city wide community service event held in the spring where the goal is to engage 1000+

volunteers to participate in one of many service opportunities provided throughout the city of Pittsburgh. In

2011, Alpha Kappa Psi cleared litter, weeded, and replanted the lawns of the local YMCA.

BOOTHBooth is an annual tradition at Carnegie Mellon during Carnival where each organization competes to build

buildings (often two-stories high) out of scrap materials surrounding a theme within a weeks’ time. In 2011,

Alpha Kappa Psi won first place in the Blitz Booth category.

CASE COMPETITIONSIn the most recent case competition we organized, sponsored by Capital One, Alpha Kappa Psi promoted

the event and handled the logistics throughout the competition. There were 60+ participants and 15 teams.

We highly encourage members to seek out internship opportunities in order to gain

experience that is not provided in classroom settings. Our members have been highly

successful in receiving offers and more importantly, many receive return offers for internships

or full time opportunities. Carnegie Mellon Alpha Kappa Psi also has a strong professional

network of alumni with annual growth far exceeding the previous year’s. Our members are

currently employed full time in companies across all industries. Below is a list of some of the

companies our Class of 2011 and current undergraduates are working/interning:

”RUSH

Alpha Kappa Psi Fall rush is a two week process where we market our fraternity to the

campus. We host events every single day, which give students opportunities to see if they are

interested in joining the fraternity. After the two week rush process, prospective students submit

applications and go through an interview process so the fraternity can evaluate if they are a good

fit for us. In Fall 2010, 200+ students attended our events and we received 50+ applications to

join the fraternity. Omega Psi Chapter currently holds 64 active members and anticipate an even

more successful rush process for Fall 2011.

EVENTSIn the two week span, our fraternity holds a combination of Professional, Social, and Service

events. Throughout these events, our members market our fraternity by wearing rush t-shirts,

handing out flyers, and handing out information of professional contacts from the professional

events. We have held events such as professional speaker series, marketing workshops, charity

events (volunteering in homeless shelters and childrens’ hospitals), and soccer tournaments.

This coming semester, Alpha Kappa Psi plans to focus more on professionalism and career

development. We believe this will be a great opportunity to work with your company to build a

strong relationship on campus. Our chapter has the resources to leverage our reputation, campus

relations, and personal contacts to guarantee your company a large ambitious audience.
