Recognize that a welfare property of the School ProposingDeferred Acceptance algorithm (that it maximizes the“schools’ welfare” among the stable assignments) can be usedas a tool to select the assignment that maximizes thesatisfaction of the diversity objectives if we design a choicefunction to be used by the schools that incorporates a“preference” for satisfying those objectives.

Analytical results comparing assignments generated by theSP-Div and the student-proposing version of that mechanismin how much segregation there is in the assignmentsgenerated by them.
