Jamshedpur Women’s College is a Premier Institution for higher education
for women in the tribal belt of Jharkhand. With student strength of almost
ten thousand, imparting education till post graduation in 14 subjects and
Vocational in 13 subjects besides the general streams the college has a
vision for inculcating absolute self reliance and self confidence among the
girls of this backward region. That has been successful in its efforts towards
excellence is evident from the fact that this is the only Women’s College in
Jharkhand to have earned the award of College with Potential for Excellence
by UGC. Our College has been awarded the status of Autonomous by
University Grants Commission in the year 2008 and “A” Grade by NAAC,
Bangalore in 2011.
The Faculty of Education of Jamshedpur Women’s College having B.Ed.
M.Ed. M.Phil . Courses was established in 2005 and has evolved as an
excellent institution known for quality education. It is the only college in
Jharkhand where the Faculty of Education has been accredited with grade
‘A’ by NAAC.
The college provides an academic experience which will help students
concretize their plans for the future and to face challenges in life with
confidence. At the same time the environment in the campus is tuned to
foster understanding and tolerance among the students.

Jamshedpur Women’s College
College at a Glance
Jamshedpur Women’s College is the first constituent college in Jharkhand
to introduce M.Ed. programme. The College had been sanctioned 25 seats
for M.Ed. by NCTE after getting NOC by the department of Higher
Education, Government of Jharkhand. It has been recognized by the
constituent body of Government of India that is National Council of
Teacher Education (N.C.T.E) vide letter No. ERC/7-94.6(II)5/2009/15793
Dated 23.03.2009 for M.Ed. After successfully completing one academic
session of M.Ed.,10 seats had been increased in the session 2010-11 by
NCTE F.NO.49/2010/PT/NCTE(N&S). Again 15 seats had been
increased by NCTE in 2015.
The college has been accredited ‘A’ by NAAC, Bangalore
Faculty of Education has its own building on the land area spread in 2550
sq. mts. besides the free space around 500 sq.mtr. around the building. It
has big class rooms, method room , Principal’s Chamber, separate
chamber for Dean, Co-ordinator and H.O.D of B.Ed. & M.Ed. , Office ,
Library , Computer Lab, Psychology Lab, Tailoring Room, Multipurpose
hall, Educational Technology Hall, Washrooms for staff and students.
There is parking space for four wheelers and two wheelers. We also have
a lift facility and badminton court for the students. The college has an air
conditioned audio-visual room with L.C.D. projector, screen and
computer along with public address system. The college has its own
computer, scanner, printer and a Xerox machine. The internet facility in
the library has helped the students as well as teachers and contributed to
the growth of the college. The examination department has been
computerized and examination work has been smoothed. The ICTE
application in teaching is adopted by the institution recently. Hostel
facility is provided for 250 students. The college has a modern
educational technology lab.

Inspired with the spirit of the motto "We shall find a way or we shall make
one" Faculty of Education nurtures its students into individuals of strong
value based convictions, sensitive to social and environmental concerns, and
capable of leading changes to shape society to the needs of its citizens.
The vision that motivates the college is to reach and retain global standards of
excellence in education, training and research by focusing resources on
infrastructure, procuring networking countrywide and improving the diversity
of the students' interests and skills.
Empowerment of women, through education, has been the single minded
mission of this College ever since its establishment. With socio-cultural
changes and technological advances, the goals and objectives of the
College are being continuously reinterpreted to make them relevant to the
needs of women and in the context of prevailing needs of the society.
Faculty of Education is committed to the cause of women’s empowerment
through access to education, particularly higher education.
Further Faculty of Education is committed to provide a wide range of
professional and vocational courses for women to meet the changing
socio-economic needs, with human values and purposeful social
responsibility and to achieve excellence with Quality in every activity.
Admission Procedure
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who have secured at least 55% Marks in the B.Ed. Degree are eligible for admission.
The Reservation for SC/ST/OBC and other categories shall be as per the rules of the State Government. There shall be relaxation of 5% marks in favour of SC/ST and other categories of candidates.
Application Process:
Students has to register herself in Jamshedpur Women’s College for pursuing M.Ed. by filling and submitting the online application form by paying the fees (Rs. 700/- for General/OBC Candidates and Rs. 550/- for SC/ST Candidates) using bank Challans at the Bank of Baroda , Jamshedpur Women’s College Branch.

Selection Criteria The selection of candidate for admission shall be made
on the basis of scores allotted to the candidates in different examinations as per State governments Guidelines.
Programme Fee
Selected candidate should remit 50,000/- (Rs. Fifty Thousand only) at the time of admission in each semester through challan to Bank of Baroda. Each student has to pay Rs. 1600/- (Sixteen hundred only) as College Examination Fee for each Semester of Examination in addition to other fees.
Note : Provision for payment of fees in Installment is available
for SC/ST candidates.
Financial assistance will be provided to the interested candidates
who likes to take loan from. Central Bank of India for the
Programme.
Provision for Stipend for SC/ST/OBC Candidate There is provision for eligible for SC/ST/OBC Candidate for getting Stipend by showing income & Caste Certificate in the Welfare Department of Jharkhand.

Important Dates
Last date of online application :- 29.06.2016 Merit List will be declared on :- 08.07.2016 Counselling on and Admission from :- 09.07.2016 to 16.07.2016 Classes Begins on :- 18.07.2016
* Candidates are instructed to submit a set of Xerox copies of
all related documents in the office of ‘Siksha Bhavan’ of the
College on or before 29th
June 2016.
Intake : For one academic session 50 students will be admitted
in M.Ed. Programme.
Reservation : Seats shall be reserved for SC 10%, ST 26%, OBC
14% ,Unreserved 50%, and 3% seats will be reserved for physically challenged.
At the time of form submission & admission All relevant original certificates must be available with the
candidate at the time of admission. The following Certificates
should be submitted in the office:
I. Attested copies of the Mark sheets of the qualifying
Examination. (Matric, Inter, Graduation, PG and B.Ed.)
II. Attested copy of the Matriculation Certificate for the
proof of age.
III. Migration Certificate of the University from which the
candidate received her last Degree, other than Kolhan
University.
IV. Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC) issued by competent
authority of Govt. of Jharkhand.
V. Four copies of recent passport size photos.
VI. College Leaving Certificate.
VII. Residential Certificate issued by competent authority of
Govt. of Jharkhand.
VIII. Income certificate (SC/ST) issued by competent authority of
Govt. of Jharkhand.
Process for filling up of Admission Form online
Read the instructions carefully before filling up the form.

Fill up the application form completely & submit it.
After the form is filled up the candidate will be allotted a
registration number and user ID & password from the
confirmation page. Kindly note down the user ID &
password to know about your candidature status.
The candidate will upload her passport size photograph
(less than 1 MB).
After uploading the photograph you can download
your Acknowledgement & Bank Challans.
Any mistake done by the applicant is at her own risk.
Admission Committee will not entertain any queries in this
regard.
Once the merit list is declared the candidate may check the
status of through her login.
The selected candidates may take admission by paying the
admission and examination fees using Bank Challans at
the Bank of Baroda, Jamshedpur Women's College
Branch.
Instructions for filling up of the form (T & C)

criteria, Otherwise her candidature may be rejected at
any stage of selection.
The applicant must upload the scanned PP size
Photograph while applying online. The maximum size of
the image must be Less Than 1 MB in .JPG Format.

respects and only then Submit the Form. No request will
be entertained in any case to amend the details at any
stage.
Incorrect/Manipulated attachments or data is liable to
lead to rejection of candidature.
While applying online, do not use the Back button on the
tool bar of your browser as it will reset the page and data
shall be lost. Use the links and buttons available on the
page to move from one page to another. Further, when
you have completed applying online, close all the open
browser windows.
Applicants are advised to use preferably either Mozilla,

Candidates are advised to apply from anywhere where Internet

Payment against your form can be made at the Bank
Counter(Bank of Baroda, Womens College Branch) using :
a. Bank Challan
Fee once paid will not be refunded under any
circumstance nor adjusted for any subsequent
examination.

DETAILS for Each candidate. Multiple number of paid
applications for a single candidate will be liable to be
rejected.
No correspondence will be entertained for any matter.
