Public TransportThere are three Ministry of Defence live Firing Ranges on the north moor. The public has access throughout the year except when the Ranges are in use for
firing. Details of firing programmes can be obtained from 0800 4584868 or www.mod.uk (search for Dartmoor).
All ranges are open throughout August, on all Public Holidays, and over Christmas and New Year.
Red flags (red lamps at night) indicate live firing is taking place, and it is unsafe and unlawful to enter the area.
Do not touch any miilitary debris – it may be dangerous. If you encounter any suspicious objects; mark the area, note the location and inform
the Commandant 01837 657210.
