Guide me, O Thou great Jehovah, pilgrim through this barren land; I am weak, but Thou art mighty: hold me with Thy pow'rful hand. Bread of heaven, feed me till I want no more. Open now the crystal fountain, whence the healing stream doth flow; let the fire and cloudy pillar lead me all my journey through. Strong Deliverer, be Thou still my strength and shield. We are excited that our congregation will be heading back to Haiti! Back in January five members of our church family engaged in God’s work and had a transformative experience. As you know, Haiti continues to need help in their recovery not only from the earthquake in 2010 but also most recently from Hurricane Sandy.

We will be going from February 14 - February 22, 2013. Rev. Camille Mattick and I will be co-leading this trip and we will be partnering with Simi Valley UMC. Our team includes Martha Ross, Michael Kelley, Jan Hanley, and Kendra Gorlitsky.

UMCOR asks that each work team contribute $350 per person to go specifically to the supplies and labor needed at each work site. These funds are used to purchase things like concrete, lumber or other essential materials used in the rebuilding effort. Along with your prayers and spiritual encouragement, you can help our First United Methodist team by making a tax-deductible contribution. All checks can be made out to FUMC and in the memo line please write in Haiti Mission Team 2013. Thank you for your prayers and your generosity.
