Many of our current students will have official du es on the day, and no ces have gone home to their parents explaining

this. It is most important that children are in a$endance at the right me and are in school uniform.

WORKING BEE: A huge thank you to the many staff, parents and students who came along to the working bee on Sunday

to make the school look its best for the centenary and you certainly succeeded. Great team effort!

THE HISTORY BOX: Tomorrow (Friday) is the students turn when they will be taken back in me in their classroom to the

more tradi onal sort of schooling that their grandparents and great grandparents would have experienced back in their

school days. The History Box will also be running 90 minute programs to develop awareness of the way in which things

have changed over me- par cularly since 1914. To help create some atmosphere and for a bit of fun, we are asking chil-

dren to come dressed as a student from a par cular era- perhaps the 20’s or 30’s or maybe more recently – 60 or 70’s.

We look forward to a great turn out of past students, staff and others who have been associated with the school during its

existence on Saturday. Come along and join the fun.

BOOK FAIR – Our second and final Scholas c Book Fair for the year is to be held in the week beginning October 27th

. On the

Monday, children will have the chance to browse through the books and other items available for sale, with selling taking

place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 8.30 and 9am and again from 3.30 un l 4pm. A “parents only”

session will be from 9am un l 9.30 on the Wednesday.

Regards

Michael

AN INTERESTING EMAIL

Hello,

My name is Natasha Burnley, last year I went to Kenya and I was looking through my old pictures the

other day and came across this one that I thought you might like. Here is a picture of a li$le boy called

Abu. This picture was taken in an orphanage in a rural village in Kenya called Kimilili. This is what Abu

wore to school, all the children in the orphanage wore old school jumpers from the UK because they

could not afford their own uniform.

Anyway, I thought you might find it interes ng that your school uniform is halfway around the world.

Share it and it may spur some more of your pupils to donate their old uniform!!

Natasha.
