Leadership research

Initial research data showed that Project Managers should spend 60% of their time on leadership and 40% on management.

The time a PM spends on management issues seems to dominate the time available

for leadership activities.

It may be that the correct balance between leadership and management will determine the most successful performance.

This balance may be different at the different career levels.


Leadership research

Leadership action cards actions appear to cost less than management action card actions and they get a greater return on investment.

We believe this, but we do not have enough research data yet for validation.


Card Selection

Hopefully the difference in the “in and out profiles” will show that you have moved toward leadership.

Careful introspection may show that more leadership actions, rather than management activities, need to be implemented.
