Executive Retreats

. Laura McAlpine is the Principal of McAlpine Consulting for Growth, a consulting company she began in September 2001 to provide organizational development, policy advocacy and leadership coaching to non-profit organizations. Laura has over 25 years of management and leadership expertise in non-profit health and social service organizations. Her skills include: strategic planning, program development, staff supervision, grant writing, organizational development, and public relations; through experience gained in positions as executive director, manager, and board member. She has worked in a variety of settings, including social service, academia, community, collective, and public/private partnerships. Laura is also a skilled policy advocate with a special focus on health access, maternal and child health, reproductive rights and anti-gay violence. She is a licensed clinical social worker and has a Master’s degree in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago. Mary F. Morten is the President of Morten Group, a consulting firm specializing in social change through skills development, public policy and advocacy. �e scope of work includes: organizational and resource development; trainings/workshops on diversity and media relations; public policy initiatives; trustee cultivation, and film/video development. She is frequently seen in national and local media outlets for her expertise as a women’s advocate. Mary’s client list and sample video/film work can be seen at www.mortengroup.com. Mary’s background includes 20 years of executive leadership at non-profits and a mayoral appointment in city government. Mary recently completed a year as the interim executive director for the Chicago Foundation for Women, one of the country’s largest women’s funds.
